“Best for families with younger children.”
Reviewed 29 March 2012

As a family of 4 we've been coming here for years. We always had an annual ticket which was extremely good value compared to alot of other places.
The park is basically full of gorgeous gardens & scenery, a restaurant (serving very expensive food for what you get) but you can take your own picnic. There is an outside & indoor playing area for younger children. There is also a train ride that takes you around the gardens (you pay extra for this).
Whilst it is great for younger children (0-10) it is quite boring for older children (unless they like just walking around gardens, hence why we no longer visit....

“Perfect day”
Reviewed 27 March 2012

Right time of year to see the Camelias, which were beautiful. As was the very regal swan sitting on its nest on the edge of the lake and easily viewed from the train ride. A great day out with good play areas for our two grandsons, ages 7 and 3 yrs.Add the peace and beauty of the whole park, this is an ideal place to visit for all ages. it was a hot sunny day for our visit and lots of people there, car park indicated this, but it never felt crowded. Just wish we had taken a picnic as some other families did. having said that good refreshments are available on the terrrace.

“Great Day Out”
Reviewed 9 March 2012

Have just spent a great day at Bicton garden's. the garden's and staff were great. my 4 year old daughter loved the train trip( small extra charge.) and the outdoor play area.
you do need dry weather for this place. the woodland walk was well worth the walk to it. we could sit in a hide and watch squirrels and birds feeding. have never known my daughter to be quiet for so long.
having a drink and a cake on the patio enjoying the splendour of the italian garden's was the highlight of the day.

“A rainy day isn't the best time to judge this place”
Reviewed 2 February 2012

Open spaces, trees, a railway all sorts of plants and a small church - shame it was raining!

“nice day out for young families”
Reviewed 17 January 2012

a not expensive day out for a young family , there are indoor & outdoor play areas, a small country life museum & lovely grounds .There is a shop & restaurant .I would say it may be a bit boring for children in or near their teens.
