Jumped on the cruise boat when it came into dock at the quay and enjoyed the trip. Wacthing the guy jumping around to open and close the lock gates was interesting and they either drop you off along at a nice pub and grab a later boat or you can stay on for the return journey. I chose to walk back into the city and it was a nice walk.

This must be one of Exeter's best kept secrets. We caught the boat from Exeter Quay(def worth a visit with lovely pubs, independent shops etc) and took a return trip to the renowned Double Locks Pub. We travelled along a beautiful waterway and were lucky enough to see not only the usual swans ducks etc but also a water snake, moor hens etc. The boat was skippered by a guy called ritchie who was very enthusiastic about the area/wildlife.He also had 'a bridgeman' who bounded off and on the boat opening the bridges that we had to pass through, manually!! The sight of that young fit guy at work was worth the trip alone!!! After lunch and a glass of wine at the pub we caught the ferry back . . relaxed and chilled. too tired to try out the pedallos at the quay - they'll have to wait til next time.
