Arrived on 7th August and was checked in by a wonderful bloke (Kris - northern person with long hair on one side), he was very pleasant and was informative. We stayed for just one night as we was going Cornwall on holidays. The room was clean and the restaurant next to Travelodge was good. The motorway can be heard but this is mentioned on the website. Convenient hotel, good staff, good experience altogether. Thank you Kris and Exeter Travelodge.

travelling with the family, this was the second stop on our roadtrip to cornwall. After a warm welcome ,we found our room to be UPSTAIRS (again)
There was a comfy bed,and clean bedding. In the bathroom were 4 towels, spiders web(missing spider thank god) behind the door, and a disgusting shower curtain.
On the plus side there were plenty of coffee and tea sachets.
BUT.....

the road noise was awful even with the windows shut. Never again..

Room Tip: go to the premier inn

My husband and I booked the hotel a few weeks before our stay and were pleased to get a room with continental breakfast for £51.60 a night. Having used quite a few different Travelodges over many years, we were not expecting very much. We're pleased that it was much better then expected and incredible value for money. We were given a family room with a put-u-up bed and a trundle bed under our double(excellent value if you had kids with you). The room was large, clean, comfy, everything worked. The bathroom had a bath and over-shower which appeared new, again everything was working. There was a little bit of wear and tear in the corridors, but not in the room. We had a snack in the bar on arrival which was very good value and the staff were friendly, efficient and relaxed and confident in their work. We had a good night's sleep, didn't hear any noise, even with the window open and I'm a light sleeper. Extremely easy check-in and out, just popped our key in the box and that was that. Well done Travelodge Exeter, you're getting it right and if you subtract the cost of 2 Box breakfasts (£9.90) the room only cost £41.70 they're getting it even more right in my opinion. Many thanks.

Room Tip: Our room's window opened on to the car park and we could hear a little motorway noise, but not e...

Stayed at the hotel several years ago and vowed never to go back. The rooms were dirty and shabby, staff unhelpful
Decided to give it another try following the re-fit. What a pleasant surprise, the rooms were clean, well maintained and staff very friendly. They even put a fan in the room.

My daughter and I recently stayed here for one night, using it as a base to visit Exeter. The hotel is located just off the M5 but is remarkably quiet. Rooms are clean and comfortable and breakfast in the restaurant/pub on site was perfectly adequate for our needs. I was pretty peeved to receive a £100 bill for parking on site about a week after my return. However, the management team was very apologetic and quick to respond and cancel the charge, for which I'm very grateful.

Very little sleep because of thinness of curtains. Apparently the hotel was recently refurbished & they threw out the old thick ones & replaced them with thin ones. There was a bright light outside my room which didn't help, but the daylight came straight thro' anyway after about 5.30. Nice, good value breakfast, but awful, desperately weak cappuccino, over-priced @ £3.29.
