“good, convenient pit stop”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

I have stayed in quite a few Travelodges and this one is as good as any, low cost, convenient, clean and comfortable. The person on reception was polite, freindly and welcoming.
The only downside of this one was the road noise.......as you would expect at such a busy intersection. In hot weather with the window open, it is difficult to sleep.
That said, I had a comfortable night here at a very reasonable price.

We stayed at the Travelodge on route to Cornwall from Kent. The check in was straight forward (parking was free). The staff were friendly throughout our stay. A young man called Kris (about 8pm) couldn't do enough for us, he was very pleasant and always was willing to help. The room was clean and tidy with good facilities. The only problem was the warmth in the rooms, I returned to reception and was given a fan which was nice. We had breakfast in the restaurant which was reasonably priced. I don't think it was part of the hotel. We departed, check out was easy and off we went to Truro. Will look forward to coming back here. Thank you.

Arrived on 7th August and was checked in by a wonderful bloke (Kris - northern person with long hair on one side), he was very pleasant and was informative. We stayed for just one night as we was going Cornwall on holidays. The room was clean and the restaurant next to Travelodge was good. The motorway can be heard but this is mentioned on the website. Convenient hotel, good staff, good experience altogether. Thank you Kris and Exeter Travelodge.

travelling with the family, this was the second stop on our roadtrip to cornwall. After a warm welcome ,we found our room to be UPSTAIRS (again)
There was a comfy bed,and clean bedding. In the bathroom were 4 towels, spiders web(missing spider thank god) behind the door, and a disgusting shower curtain.
On the plus side there were plenty of coffee and tea sachets.
BUT.....

the road noise was awful even with the windows shut. Never again..

Room Tip: go to the premier inn

My husband and I booked the hotel a few weeks before our stay and were pleased to get a room with continental breakfast for £51.60 a night. Having used quite a few different Travelodges over many years, we were not expecting very much. We're pleased that it was much better then expected and incredible value for money. We were given a family room with a put-u-up bed and a trundle bed under our double(excellent value if you had kids with you). The room was large, clean, comfy, everything worked. The bathroom had a bath and over-shower which appeared new, again everything was working. There was a little bit of wear and tear in the corridors, but not in the room. We had a snack in the bar on arrival which was very good value and the staff were friendly, efficient and relaxed and confident in their work. We had a good night's sleep, didn't hear any noise, even with the window open and I'm a light sleeper. Extremely easy check-in and out, just popped our key in the box and that was that. Well done Travelodge Exeter, you're getting it right and if you subtract the cost of 2 Box breakfasts (£9.90) the room only cost £41.70 they're getting it even more right in my opinion. Many thanks.

Room Tip: Our room's window opened on to the car park and we could hear a little motorway noise, but not e...

Stayed at the hotel several years ago and vowed never to go back. The rooms were dirty and shabby, staff unhelpful
Decided to give it another try following the re-fit. What a pleasant surprise, the rooms were clean, well maintained and staff very friendly. They even put a fan in the room.
