“Overpriced”
Reviewed 27 May 2013

I visit this cinema regularly and noticed that the prices just seem to be going up and up! It's nearly £9 a film now. The staff are friendly but very busy, and you can buy popcorn and snacks whilst getting your tickets. The cinema itself is good quality.

We love the Vue, and its our cinema of choice in Exeter. Its nice and modern, and shows a good selection of films & timings.

“Taking the mick a bit”
Reviewed 10 May 2013

I phoned to book tickets & asked when the film started, (that is, the film, no the whole shebang with trailers etc) and was advised to get into the seats 15 minutes ahead of the film starting, which we did. The film was coming to the end of its run and the screen where it was showing was the very small one, and at first it was almost empty. Then the adverts began at ear-splitting volume. This was not film trailers, but ordinary adverts for banks etc., exactly the ones you get fed up with on TV and ignore/change the channel for a bit, except here you can't. The cinema gradually filled up. I went to get a drink and asked a member of staff why the film hadn't started, and he said they wait for more people & basically start when they feel like it. So the film that was supposed to start at 7.15 started at 8pm and we'd had to endure 45 minutes of adverts & trailers at full volume. I don't mind the trailers but the adverts felt like torture. The film was good but the treatment beforehand made us feel we'd been lied to and badly treated.

“A VUE FOR A VIEW”
Reviewed 9 May 2013

It is a pretty standard multi-screen cinema but probably the best place to see a movie in the centre of Exeter – there’s not that much competition. The sound systems, screens, seating, etc are top quality and there are sufficient screens to offer a wide choice of viewing. We find that the ‘executive’ seats for which you pay more are less comfortable than the standard. The booking hall and circulation spaces don’t win any design awards but it is functional although there can be frustrating queues (avoided by on-line booking), not least because booking staff also serve the popcorn, etc. Prices can be high: it is cheaper outside peak times and ‘2-for-1 Orange Wednesday’ deals also help as does bringing your own snacks - and checking out the best place to park.

“Good cinema”
Reviewed 8 May 2013 via mobile

We pre-booked so avoided the rather large queue. Decided to get a drink and popcorn and was a but surprised at the price - more than I was expecting! I guess it is about average for this type of cinema. The seats were reasonably comfortable, and the sound good without being too loud (my pet hate)
Would visit again.
