Stayed with 5 friends in three twin rooms. Service was very good and hotel had a pleasant ambience. We did b&b, rather regret not eating in the restaurant judging from other revues. Would definitely recommend, very good location and convenient parking. If you have mobility issues do not accept third floor as no lift that far.

Room Tip: No lift to third floor

Staff very friendly and helpful. We had a larger room which was fine and reasonably spacious for the cost. The hotel is well situated and the free parking between 16:00 and 10:00 is useful.

The ambiance in the Olive Tree restaurant is relaxing and enchanting with subtle lighting and decor, The menus on offer are interesting and a little different although the portions are quite small.

Would definitely consider staying at the hotel again.

We stayed here by courtesy of Travelzoo - the stay included a glass of sparkling wine, and three course dinner and full English breakfast the following morning.

A warm welcome, good parking opposite as previously noted free from 4pm - 10am. A nice room on the first floor with large bathroom. The meal though in the restaurant was excellent - a very good choice, lovely presentation and the taste was "WOW"! Very highly recommended. Next time we are in Exeter we will eat at the Olive Tree again.

Very many thanks to the chef.

We have previously written glowing reports and stayed and eaten on several occasions...and been very happy....on occasion we managed good deals but on last visit we only booked on arrival day and price effectively doubled.THAT we could live with as dinner good but visit utterly ruined by breakfast waitress swishing long black locks over all and everyone's breakfasts....we did complain but no refund was offered, felt physically sick, ate nothing despite food being put in front of me...the waitress was admonished and hair then tied back....with a scowl at us as she walked through. much more worryingly ...why was food hygiene issue not addressed before a complaint made as Manager/ owner/ someone important there all the time.
Plastic shower curtain was badly stained in bathroom. So disappointed as we were frequent visitors, hotel has excellent reports, but slips like this unacceptable.never returning.

Very nice hotel, small, and so personal feel and service. Quiet location but within a few minutes walk of shops etc. Free car parking from 4.00 pm to 10.00 am but car park opposite costs only £1.80 for three hours so very convenient.
Bedroom we had was spacious and wonderful bed and reading lights.
All fitting obviously top quality.
The restaurant food was just wonderful. Really interesting menu.
We will be staying again.

Room Tip: Room 107 was great.
