Enjoyed a great couple of nights at the City Gate last week whilst on business in Exeter. I was in room 5 this time, which I preferred to room 6 as the bathroom is much nicer. The bed was ridiculously comfy and I slept in well past my alarm on both mornings as a result. Great natural light in the room - good for ladies doing their make up. The pub itself was nice again though I didn't eat in house this year. The beer garden was a lovely treat, and I was able to snuggle into the comfy garden sofas under the gazebo as the sun was out and it was finally warm enough to sit outside. The wifi even reached outside!
The only downside was that the room was cold, and although an electric oil heater was supplied I managed to pull the plug slightly out of the socket without realising, so it was nippy. My fault, though an installed radiator would avoid this issue! Couple of light bulbs out on arrival, but soon fixed upon enquiry at reception.More
