“Comfortable, quiet and delicious marmalade!”
Reviewed 25 June 2011

We stayed at the hotel for one night en route back from Cornwall. We chose it mainly for its proximity to the station (10mins walk), but it turned out to be a little gem, definitely living up to the other positive reviews on this site. Our room wasn't enormous, but it was nicely furnished, with a very comfortable bed. All sorts of nice little touches, like free Wifi, DVD's to borrow and books to read. Breakfast was delicious, with a wide choice of cereals and yoghurts plus delicious homemade jams and marmalades and any combination of cooked breakfast you wanted. Fantastic value for money.

We stayed here for one night and were very happy with the hotel, its in a residential street just out of the city centre, 5-10 minute walk to anywhere that you want to go. Service was excellent, very helpful without being over the top, fresh tea made for me when I checked in etc. The room was great, very happy to have a bath as well as a shower available, and the bed was extremely comfortable. On top of all that, the breakfast was very good, a wide range of food, and plenty of it.

almost worth coming to stay here just for a holiday. the staff were charming and helpful. the room was small but completely comfy and immaculate...and the breakfast is remarkable and served with panache by a guy who seems half performance artist and half michelin two star. i didnt really want to write this review lest it be too full for me next time!...but go on...they deserve it!

I really liked this B & B - the decor as you immediately walk through the door is a little dated but my double room was very comfortable with lots of touches added to make you feel like you are at home. I had reserved a single room but got upgraded to a double which was a bonus. The place was spotless and staff very friendly. Breakfast room is lovely and sunny and the food is very good. Would recommend.

We spent three happy nights in single rooms at Silversprings, and were welcomed with coffee in the patio garden. The rooms are compact and well-designed with everything you could possibly want provided, including a bathrobe, a good range of in-room refreshments including cafetierre coffee, bottled water, liquid soaps and lotions, wine glasses, a TV, alarm clock, telephone and hairdryer. There is plenty of room for clothes. The reception has a lounge, behind which there is a lovely dining room with buffet breakfast, including a very tasty choices of cooked breakfasts. There is also parking at the rear of the hotel. It is service with a smile and everyone 'goes the extra mile'. The hotel has very 'green' credentials, and is placed very close to Exeter Central station, and Northernhay Gardens, and is a 10 minute walk from the Cathedral and its delightful close and the main shopping area. Staff are always happy to provide tourist information, and there are a lot of delightful attractions in the area. There is good range of bedroom types and some lovely appartments two doors away. We will be happy to stay again the next time we are in Exeter.

Stayed here for one night in a single room. Chamber and bathroom were extremely clean and tidy with attractive furnishings. Nice touches in room including bathrobe, biscuits and high-quality tea items, DVD player. Inn keeper fixed me a lovely tea when I arrived and had soy milk ready for me as per my e-mailed request. Breakfast was excellent and professionally served. Centrally located - if you arrive by train exit at Central Station if you can... it is an easier walk than from St. David's. Would definitely stay here again.
