“Cheap but noisy”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2014 via mobile

We stayed for one night here, and whilst it was clean and the staff were friendly there were a few issues. When you arrive you have to ring a number and wait for a member of staff to arrive at the hotel to let you in. Our room was very clean and comfortable. However the walls are very thin and we were disturbed by other guests coming back and let's sat enjoying themselves in the their rooms not something you want to hear! The breakfast is good with a lot of choice. All in all it was a cheap basic stay.

We stayed here for one night, arrived rather late but the staff were very helpful in rebooking our reservation for a restaurant. The room was very comfy and clean. Lots of choice for breakfast. This hotel is only a few minutes walk away from the main shopping centre.

Stayed here a couple of times.
It has everything you need - beds, en suite, towels, hair dryer, TV, tea and coffee in rooms.
Cooked breakfast is yummy and on offer every morning. They are very accommodating with this as well.
It isn't stylish or snazzy but it is is everything you need from a hotel room.

My room was very spacious and clean. It was also blissfully quiet. England was playing in the World Cup that night and I didn't hear a single sound in my room! The bed and bedding were very comfortable. There were plenty of overhead lights and lamps as well as a big window to let the sunlight in in the morning. The ensuite bathroom was nice and they provided big comfy towels. The breakfast in the morning was delicious with fast and friendly service. It's located quite close to the two big train stations (though you have to walk up a steep hill if you are coming from St. Davids) and it's not far to the bus and coach station either. The city center was just a short walk away. There's a laundromat just around the corner and lots of pubs and restaurants right across the street. There was no one at reception when I arrived even though I had specified on my booking when I would get there, but there was a phone to ring a guy from across the street and he was there in just a couple minutes. The wifi wasn't working when I first arrived, but they got it fixed as soon as I let them know and after that it was very fast and reliable.

Room Tip: I stayed in the downstairs "flat." It was big enough for at least three people to stay com...

I have stayed here twice now while visiting friends in Exeter. It is very close to Exeter Central Station and the City centre. It is very clean, the staff and friendly and efficient. The breakfast was excellent. The room comfortable with tea and coffee making provided. Bed very comfortable.
There is carparking .

Room Tip: Mine was on the 1st floor, at the back and was very quiet, but I think the front would be quiet too...

This hotel is situated close to the town center and you can easily walk in from here. For Exeter, offers pretty good value for money. On arrival you have to call a number on the phone in the entrance and then someone comes to let you in. The hotel in general was very clean, and had good free WiFi connection. You can park for free with a permit issued by the hotel but this is for on street parking only, not in the car park opposite.
The bed was very comfortable, my only real gripe was the ability to hear most of the surrounding rooms as the walls must be very thin.
Breakfast was included and wasn't bad at all.
I probably would stay again if only for the price and convenience.

Room Tip: Ask for a double room. Ask for road side parking permit.

The memory of The Georgian Lodge in Exeter still makes me shudder. Beds with springs sticking out, dirty carpets and bed covers, very loud clangs from doors banging throughout the night and no staff onsite during the night and for much of the day. Hearing all to clearly what fellow guests are getting up to in their rooms........ Avoid!!!

Room Tip: Go to another B&B
