Description: The ASK Italian restaurant group boasts an excellent Exeter venue, situated in a stunning period building on the green next to Exeter Cathedral. The ASK Italian restaurant has recently gone through an extensive refurbishment. We've created a restaurant with a distinctive new look inspired by modern Italian design. And with the help of our expert friends, including awarding-winning chef Theo Randall, we've created a menu that features a range of simple, classic Italian food and an all Italian wine list.

“Surprised at how good it was!”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

I have visited another ASK restaurant and wasn't impressed. We were in Exeter for a day on our way home from holiday and as it was a lovely sunny day were looking for somewhere to eat outside. We found a table in the charming courtyard at ASK and were very pleased as all the places in the Cathederal area seemed very busy. The friendly waitress really looked after us, making a good suggestion for our wine choice and she seemed genuinely concerned that we should enjoy ourselves. We both ordered salads which were both delicious and filling. Just right on an English summer day. If the courtyard is full then there's a nice garden behind. Would definitely visit again.

“Well worth a visit ”
Reviewed 4 July 2014 via mobile

We went here for a late lunch while out shopping, and we are so glad we did. We were welcomed very warmly. The restaurant is situated by the cathedral a great place for people watching. We ordered the king prawn starter, we were not disappointed they were delicious. Worth a trip back just for that. My husband ordered the mushroom risotto he said it was really lovely, creamy and full of flavour, I had the fillet of sea bass which was equally amazing, rich in flavour and melted in the mouth. Tiramisu and lemon sorbet to finish was a wonderful dining experience, we won't hesitate in going back it was great value for money. All washed down with half bottle of Pinot Grigio blush. Simply lovely! The staff were attentive but not obtrusive. They knew about the food on the menu which is always a huge plus.

“Not a restaurant to go to”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

The service was terrible, the waiter took a long time to turn up, there were only 6 persons in the restaurant, including us. He looked so bored and his answers were so stereotyped. The table was not dressed properly. The food was poor, salad not tossed properly and dressing extremely watery, I even found a hair in mine. The wine, a £20.00 bottle of chianti, was below average. The only good thing was the view of the cathedral. I will not go back to that chain, and don't recommend this restaurant in Exeter.

My family and I love this place one of only two Italian restaurants we will eat at. Great atmosphere and service and food to die for. Don't miss out.
