Richard and Kay made us feel welcome from the outset and shared their lovely home with us. Relaxed atmosphere, beautiful views of the river and fabulous home cooked breakfast.. Highly recommend a stay here and would return in a heartbeat

From the moment we arrived at The Heatherville we were made to feel welcome, with Kay and Richard waiting on the doorstep to greet us and invite us in for tea/Coffee and homemade cakes, a much appreciated break after our 4 hour drive. During this friendly relaxed time we were informed about the local area, places to eat, and suggestions about places to visit whilst staying at The Heatherville before we were taken to and shown our room where Richard helped to bring our bags in from the car. The room and ensuite bathroom were spotless, well laid out and more than suitably equipped with all that we needed. The bedroom included a very comfortable king size bed with drapes, TV with DVD Player, Tea & Coffee making facilities and was south facing with picturesque views out of the window overlooking the East Lyn River and across the valley over parts of the beautiful town of Lynmouth. The Heatherville is situated part way up the hillside making the views even more fantastic.

Just after we arrived, another couple also arrived. They received the same welcome as we did and we were all introduced to each other. The other couple, as often appears to be the case at the Heatherville, were return guests who had been here several times before.

The following morning we were welcomed into the well laid out and tidy dining room for breakfast to a vast variety of Cereals and fruit to which we could help ourselves. When we had made ourselves comfortable, Richard took our order for Tea’s and Coffee’s, toast and cooked breakfast. The breakfast was Plentiful with the full English cooked to order to perfection and left you feeling perfectly set up for the day ahead.

The Heatherville is ideally situated just a few minutes’ walk from Lynmouth town centre where you can sit and relax by the river, enjoy a variety of shops for souvenir’s etc, find tea rooms for Cream Tea’s, go into restaurants for lunch or evening meals or take a ride on the Cliff Railway up to Lynton. If you wish to take the car, there are plentiful places within easy reach throughout the Exmoor National Park.

Unfortunately my wife wasn’t particularly well due to other ongoing health complications during part of our stay, but again, Kay & Richard went the extra mile to help however they could.

Throughout our stay at this small friendly hotel, we were made to feel welcome and comfortable and relaxed. Fresh milk was available for tea and coffee when asked for instead of using the otherwise supplied portions of uht milk, and fresh tea & coffee was brought to our room whenever we requested. Everything was accomplished in a timely manner, and we never felt rushed. We could find no fault with The Heatherville and most definitely will return again in the future.

Thank you Kay & Richard

This is my third visit to this B&B and each time I have been extremely well looked after. The rooms are excellent and very clean and comfortable, the breakfasts are very tasty and the location makes for a very relaxing experience. I would recommend this B&B to anyone and I have always had a very pleasent time at the Heatherville.

Fourth time staying here and everything about the rooms, service, food and hospitality remains at the previous high standard.
A great place to stay. Lots to do in the area - lots of lovely walks, great places to get cream teas (check out Selworthy, a tiny hamlet of thatched cottages kept as they would have been years ago, visit Periwinkle Tea Room). Exmoor itself is very beautiful (even on a dull day). Take a trip up to Lynton on the fenicular railway (short trip - not scary even if you don't like heights).V Great views of Wales all along the coast.alley of the rocks is a good place for a walk whether you only want a short walk or to walk all day.

Room Tip: All rooms are lovely. We stayed in the room right at the end (over the dining room) - a spacious roo...

Having seen so many good reviews for this B&B on Tripadvisor I had high hopes, which were fully met. Superb location, great bedroom, good welcome and breakfast. They got all the little touches right.

I stayed overnight Thursday 22 August 2013.
