What a gem, such a shame we only found it on the last night of our stay. Great food, excellent service and friendly owner. Would definately make a b-line for this little restaurant if we return to the area. 5 Stars!!

Whether your a foody or not this place is pasionate about food! The menu even listed the two fishing boats that catch the fish served here and where the fish are caught and landed. A real quality treat for the both of us. Great food, fantastic atmosphere, and will cettainly go there again.

I'm sure a few more people in the place would give the buzz this place needed to liven it up a bit - maybe try for a Saturday evening when they seem to be fuller. The food was simple, home cooked well and appetizing enough (unfortunately the 'fresh baked' rolls still had a frozen core but the chocolate pudding was really good) and the staff were nice. Our main issue with Le Bistro was that it was nice enough - and this just didn't warrant the whopping prices. They look reasonable enough compared to the other places in town but presentation is simple, rustic and no-fuss. Like tea at home. If it was better value I would recommend it, but we paid about the same price for a fantastic meal at the Quay in Ilfracombe the day before and this just paled in comparison.
