We've just returned from a wonderful weekend in one of the most unusual and quirky hotels we've ever experienced.
The public rooms were stuffed full of unusual antiques and collectors pieces, which gave the hotel a very unique atmosphere.
The room we had (301) was on the top floor, with a balcony overlooking Lynmouth bay, and was a good size, and very well appointed.
We were greeted on arrival with a free 'Millers gin & tonic', which is actually made by the owner of the hotel, and tasted wonderful.
The restaurant food was excellent, and dining by candle light very romantic!
We will definitely be back soon!

Room Tip: Ask for a 2nd or 3rd floor, sea facing room, with a balcony

We stayed two nights at the Tors, and loved it. As you walk in from the car park you are met by gorillas and sheep (statues!), the reception and lounge areas are stuffed full of quirky items including antiques, pictures, photographs, books, plus bowls of sweets everywhere!

Our room was small but comfortable, and we had a wonderful view of the village and the sea. The bathroom was very small, but all was clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and helpful. We had dinner one night, and this was fantastic. Plenty of fresh fish, plus meat and vegetarian options, all very well presented, cooked perfectly, with a great wine list.

The Millers Gin is a must - served with juniper berries to bring out the flavour, and the gin cocktails are also recommended (especially the raspberry).

Definitely recommend if you are looking for a quiet hotel in a lovely location that is just a little different.

Stayed for a long weekend at the Tors, we were delighted with our room, no 301, the decor was a little dated but clean and comfortable. The best part was the balcony, with stunning views over lynmouth harbour and bay. The public areas were filled with unusual and quirky antiques, books and ornament that were worth taking time to have a look around, and the front decking area was relaxing again with great views. It was a shame that a great hotel had no stock of cider, either on draught or bottled, especially as we were in Devon, , we would have spent more time in the public areas, also that some of the lesser used outside areas needed a general sweeping and tidying Up. The staff were really friendly helpful and we were always greeted with a smile from everyone. We will look forward to returning to the hotel in the near future.

I have been visiting this hotel at various times with my family and friends for about 17 years. We obviously liked it or we would not have kept going back, so it was therefore with trepidation I booked to stay under the new ownership. I should not have worried, it is excellent, completely different in its syle and decor, but still the same atmosphere. This building must have one of the best views anywhere. The food here has always been consistantly good and this is still the case. The chef and his team produce delicious, high standard meals and should be congratulated. The staff are friendly and efficient and I know would try and do anything to make peoples visit pleasurable. This hotel is having an update of its bedrooms over the winter which will make it even better.

Room Tip: Most rooms look out over Lynmouth village and harbour and have a fantastic view.

We stayed for 2 nights dinner, bed and breakfast. The staff were absolutely excellent, the room was clean and comfortable, the food was superb. The eclectic collection of objects d'art has to be seen to be believed. Car parking at the main entrance is a bit tight, but there is another parking area behind the hotel. A hotel that we will definately return to if we are this way again.
