We love this hotel. It's beautiful, warm and cosy, staff lovely, bar well-stocked and welcoming, the views amazing and the food plentiful and great quality. The first experience we had of this hotel was a cold rainy November but we still loved it! Can't wait to be back this autumn!

Located directly on the sea front, in the centre of Lynmouth, this hotel is in a pretty setting. A small independent hotel with great staff, lovely rooms and good food. Very relaxing. Fantastic location to explore Exmoor national park.

We stayed here for 3 nights and booked the Four poster. The hotel has a long history and has original features. This makes it a special place to stay. Also it is located at the river mouth and harbor, a perfect spot in the village of Lynmouth. The view from the room was beautiful. The room was on the small side. The bathroom was dated and somehow the floor in the bathroom became quite hot, possibly because the room is located above the kitchen. What is good is that this hotel has free private parking spaces on site. The breakfast menu stated smoked fish was served but when I got it it was fried and greasy, not smoked and I had to sent it back unfortunately.

Location superb, food superb, staff superb, rooms 1 and 2 noise from the breakers take a little getting used to, but that is why we chose the location. Will definately return. Especially for the 3 for 2 promotion October until April, although getting there in icy condtions might pose a problem, Lnynmouth is not called little Switzerland without reason.

Lovely place, room over looking the harbour and sea but I was disappointed that there wasn't anything in the room to acknowledge that we were on honeymoon, flowers, wine, chocs, anything small just to make it feel special. Things like that go along way to getting people to go again

We would recommend this hotel for it's unique location, situated right next to the harbour on one side and the River Lyn on the other. Our room had a four poster bed and was clean and fresh with wonderful views of the sea and harbour from the windows. It was so relaxing to sit and watch the tides flow in and see all the boats bobbing about in the harbour.
Although the weather this week has not been so good, the friendly helpful staff and the excellent food in the harbour restaurant made our stay special.
We find to hard to believe that the previous reviewer stayed at the same place. We may have been there at the same time as someone complained on our first evening in the restaurant. This seemed amazing as everyone else enjoyed their meals and we found the food so good we eat there every night for the week. We also saw other people who had returned more than once.
There were a variety of dishes available and the rump of lamb and the fish specials every day were faultless (loved the sea bass)
We found the waiters very helpful ( especially the young Spanish boys and the Polish girl who served breakfast). All the staff were friendly and nothing was a problem.
We loved it! Please go and make up your own minds!

We were booked in for 2 Nights as a wedding gift , what a total Disaster. For a £100 pound a night room you can get far better for less in the town. The bathroom had mildew and mould , the wall paper was hanging off. Carpet had burn makes in it. The food well I would not feed my dog with what they cooked. I think the cheif would have a hard time cooking toast and getting it right. And as for the staff well waiter was waking around with his pants haning out , they don't serve anything but filter coffer after 18.00. There is no warmth in the place and it's not very friendly. If you want a good meal and nice friendly place to go pop across the road to the Bell House . We left after 1 night , and are waiting on a replay for a refund , as you can guess nothing yet. 0 out of 10
