Very friendly and efficient service, nice atmosphere and excellent food on a Saturday evening. Can't comment on what it's like during the day, but from our experience, worth a visit!

The restauarnt decor is bland, it's decorated in weird little mismatching ornaments etc and it has all the atmosphere of a cafe at a zoo. It's like they put the cheap tables and chairs in and said "That'll do". it really is the most boring looking restaurant I've ever eaten in. Our waitress, a very young girl didn't smile ONCE but another lady who occasionally stpped by the table was very friendly. I noticed ou waitress did smile and chat with the group behind us - she seemed to know them though. I ordered a steak - it was fine, but rather taseless and the 3 onions rings and pile of chips clearly were from the freezer. My partner's Veggie burger apparently was better. All in all, a pretty forgettable experience. Should we ever go to Lyton again we'd most likely give his place a miss.

Please teach your waitresses to smile at your customers though, i don't expect a song and a dance but a cheery dispostion always helps you feel weclome.

We ate here twice while we were staying in Lynton and were not disappointed. The food and presentation is excellent, the staff are friendly and helpful and the owner took the time to have a chat with us. We would definitely recommend The Greenhouse, and will return again as soon as possible.

Finding somewhere to eat in Lynton and Lynmouth on the Friday evening of the bank holiday weekend without booking well ahead was proving to be a challenge. So we were glad to be accommodated at the Greenhouse.
The staff were very friendly and efficient and the food was ok and reasonably priced, but not special. On service we would give 4 stars on food quality 3 stars.
I am sure if we went with hungry kids we would have rated it more highly because the menu would suit and the happy easygoing nature of the staff and the room is important.

We went here on recommendation from our guest house and were not disappointed. The service was great and the food excellent (it was one of my favourite meals on holiday)! I recommend the chicken with leak sauce. It got quite busy so booking would be recommended.
