Having visited the Valley of the Rocks we came upon this charming little Tea Cottage and stopped for lunch. My wife and granddaughters had delicious sandwiches and I had an excellent Ploughmans. This is run by the christian community from Lee Abbey which is a few hundred yards away up the valley.Would definitely recommend this if you are in the area.

Visited recently whilst rambling from Lynton to Woody Bay. Typical little tea cottage in lovely gardens. Quiet and a short walk to Lee Bay. Reasonably priced with a good selection of cream teas, cakes, light lunches, salads etc. Recommended.
Order at counter and your order is brought to you.

We visited last year and had a fabulous cream tea in a beautiful garden and the scones especially were exquisite; light, airy and delicious. We returned this weekend and think a different recipe must be being used. They were heavy dry and tasteless and left me with some indigestion! Also, the jam was not as good and far too small an amount as well as being thin. Please bring back the old recipe from last year and be more generous with the jam and cream. This was so disappointing.

A beautiful garden in a gorgeous setting of the Lee Valley, this is the perfect place for a cream tea ! I went twice in August 2013, and on the 2nd visit bought an equally delicious strawberry and custard tart. The cottage sells wholesome, organic and fairly traded food at a reasonable prices. The service at the counter and the tables was friendly and prompt. One word of warning however - it is closed on Mondays except for bank holidays.
