Woodland Guesthouse is just perfect. The whole house is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated and designed. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfasts were made using excellent locally produced ingredients. The cooked breakfast was delicious as were the fresh fruit and yogurt.
It was just a short 10min walk into the town and walks up onto Exmoor and along the river valleys started just a couple of minutes away so no need to use the car. Andy and Jo are great hosts and have a wealth of knowledge of the local area.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this guesthouse.

Not much to say except probably one of the best places I've stayed in the UK! Been a couple of times on a review from my parents. Such an idyllic place to stay and get out of the city. Breakfasts are a real treat and the owners are really helpful in advising where to go and eat. We will be back next year!

We visited Woodlands again this year and are evermore impressed with the renovations that Jo & Andy have undertaken - this is a guest house that gets more appealing the more you visit. This time we introduced my relatives to Woodlands and they too were incredibly impressed. We had the two larger rooms and despite the fact that a new 'guests sitting room' had been added since our last visit, we really didn't need to use it very much because these larger rooms are so comfortable. Everything is very tastefully decorated and in my sister's words "the plumbing is excellent" - meaning that the bathrooms are great! Jo's breakfasts are wonderful and she provides a great deal of variety.
As part of the service Andy managed to make a reservation at the Oak Rooms for our first evening meal which was our third visit and the service was lovely. We also discovered the Culbone Inn, on the way to Porlock and the Black Venus in the village of Challacombe - we were pleased with our meals and service in both venues.
We are always impressed by the fact that Woodlands is excellent value, especially if you take up the special offer of staying more that three nights. Lynton does have lots going for it and we'll definitely be back again.
