We found The Seawood by accident as we intended to try the hotel next door but there was no one there at 4.30 in the afternoon. We hardly needed to see the room as the host was so friendly and accommodating we had already made up our minds by the time she showed us the airy,first-floor corner room with magnificent unbroken seaview. Unfortunately, we were only staying one night and didn't have dinner there, but we had the freshest of breakfasts outside on the terrace (we just couldn't get enough of that view).

We stayed here one night with our 9 year old son.The hotel is in a fantastic location perched on the cliff with views over the Bristol Channel. The reception from the owners was warm, friendly and informative. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable with a good sized modern bathroom. The bed was sumptious with very good quality linen. The breakfast, bar and living area were all tastefully decorated with panoramic views over the channel. Breakfast was plentiful with good quality ingredients and attentive service. Alfresco dining is also available on the small outdoor terrace. What is there not to like? Nothing

We stayed here for 2 nights in the suite on the third floor. I don't give 5 star ratings easily, but this place is really well looked after with great views and a great location. The food is excellent and can highly recommend eating in the restaurant. It is a bit weird in the suit on a 3rd floor that you can come face to face with people walking up the hill outside, but we did have prior warning and knew it was worth keeping the curtains closed at certain times of the day.
It's not like a normal hotel, I would call it more of a luxury B&B that serves dinner. But I think that is the case with a lot of the hotels in that area and The Seawood is nearer the top end of the price scale. But if you are going to get good service & food I'm glad we did spend that little more. Russ is a very friendly and welcoming host and always willing to have a chat and give information on the local area. Maybe a little too happy all the time, but how can that be a bad thing. Thank you for a great couple of days.

My wife and i stayed for three nights 4th-6th of june 2012 the hotel was just what we was looking for.We stayed in the four poster bedroom at the front of hotel and had wonderful views of the bristol channel it was really clean and a lovely bathroom. The hotel is in a really lovely position with plenty of places in walking distance to see.
The breakfast was excellent, we also had evening meals every night because you could not fault the quality of the food and service.
The owners really work hard to make your stay enjoyable and we highly recomend you make this hotel your first choice for a short break in Lynton

My husband and I stayed for one night at the end of April and thoroughly enjoyed our visit, returning to work feeling like we'd had much more than a weekend away! The hotel is in a beautiful spot with lots to see/do in the local area. Lovely room with great views (Ragged Jack), very friendly and entertaining hosts, great dinner and breakfast. Highly recommended

We stayed last week for two nights and sampled dinner on the thursday which was excellent as usual though times can be a little rigid. Fine crab starter for me followed by seabass and homemade soup followed by cannon of lamb for my wife. Luxury ice cream for pudding washed down with the local Exmoor Gold ale for me and lime soda for her;complemented by two glasses of dry white. Improvements continue to be made to the hotel and this time we indulged in a superior room with great king size bed with ( potentially) fine views of the welsh coast. Two fine breakfasts included ltasty locally sourced yoghurts, kippers plus scrambled eggs and salmon.
A really relaxing trip thanks to the sustained efforts of Russ and Kerinda.
