My husband and I spent 2 nights at Seawood to wind down from a weekend celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful stay ,our room had double aspect views was clean beautifully decorated with lovely white robes for our use.The bathroom was modern clean and very spacious with plenty of white fluffy towels .The food both breakfast and the evening meal was beautifully cooked and presented.Russ and Karinda are perfect hosts who work so hard to make your stay with them comfortable, special and good value for money. We will defiantly be visiting again and will recommend to our family and friends .If I have one fault it is that Russ and Karinda work to hard ,bless them.I hope they get the chance to have a well deserved break at the end of the season. We look forward to returning in the not to distant future. Carole and Barry Wild ,24th July 2013.

Excellent location. Hosts very attentive. The evening meal was very good but the restaurant lacks atmosphere, you could hear everyones conversation - perhaps some quiet backgound music would help, and I think the price justifys some white linen on the tables as it would increase the ambiance no end.
We opted for one of the smaller rooms which was very nicely decorated with a modern ensuite, both spotlesslyclean. The only draw back is that we both kept hitting our legs on the bed frame which protrudes from the bed.
Breakfast on the terrace was fantastic - a glorious sunny day and the views are spectactular.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, thank you to our hosts

Room Tip: If you can afford it go for the best room available

Me and my husband visited this hotel two years ago in Aug but totally forgot to write a review because shortly after that weekend away, we got married.
We booked everything in a rush, we were so stressed around the Wedding preparations that, we just wanted to escape London for a little bit :)
We hired a Caterham (we love cars!) and shoot off driving towards Exmoor not expecting anything special either from the area or from the hotel, and.... What a surprise! Exmoor was wonderful, Lynmouth and Lynton are very sweet charming little towns and oh, the hotel: bliss!
Beautiful views, nice, clean room with crisp sheets bed. Their cooking is all you need: simple, high quality cuts of meat and veg cooked to perfection. it felt very healthy.
My phone couldnt get a signal so that was beautiful too :D

The hosts are very warm and welcoming and it really felt like visiting friends! We found out the husband host is also interested in cars, had a huge knowledge in Caterhams and told us the best roads in Exmoor where we can have fun driving!! We really thought our trip cant get better than that considering we booked everything in a rush :)))
We also did the hike on the cliff by the sea, it's photographer's heaven!!!

The hotel was amazing, we were due to stay in a superior room but there were plumbing problems on the day of arrival - however we were offered a classic room which was just as beautiful. They made the room up so that we could fit Finley's travel cot in. Nothing was too much trouble, they didn't have any high chairs but offered us the bar room to allow Finley to crawl around. Everything was perfect and breakfast was delicious! - I especially enjoyed the hot chocolate in the bedroom, yummy!!! We are defiantly going back and have decided to book the hotel for our wedding night stay - WE LOVE IT!!!

We stayed here for 2 nights last weekend. We had an amazing room (well, suite) at the top of the house, with absolutely stunning views. Russ and Kerinda, the owners, were lovely people and could not do enough for you. They made us feel very relaxed and also had a lot of local knowledge. The food was delicious - we had the breakfasts and one evening meal here. We would not hesitate to recommend to anyone who wants a peaceful, five star, relaxing break and would definitely stay here again. Rich & Sarah, Stratford-On-Avon

Room Tip: I think all rooms had seaviews, but the second floor had the best views. We had the Watersmeet suite...

We stayed for 2 nights in June. We had booked a room right at the top of the house and boy was it worth it. It took a lot to pry us from our window seats as we had the most wonderful view of the Severn Estuary and Wales. We are keen bird watchers and appreciated being able to see gannets diving for food.

The room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Just beware of the antique bed legs!

The hosts were excellent and service was good.

The hotel is extremely handy for walks along the coast path to the valley of the rocks/goats and beyond and extremely handy for the cliff railway- when they say it is at the bottom of the garden they mean it! It really is a delightful location with a lovely terrace to dine on if the weather is good.

It was a fabulous break and introduction to this area, we want to come back, what more can you ask for?

I think the ratio of very positive reviews for this great hotel, as against the few slightly less positive ones, speaks volumes for the fantastic standard of this hotel and the proprietors Russ & Karinda.

Due to a minor glitch in the booking process we were kindly upgraded to the Watersmeet Suite by the owners. Fantastic room with wonderful views and facilities, comfortable bed, quality linens, contemporary bathroom, all very clean, tidy and a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing place to stay. Russ & Karinda have obviously put a lot of thought and energy into the design and decor of their hotel.

We did not eat in the hotel, other than for breakfast, so cannot comment on evening meals. There was an excellent choice for Breakfast and the full Devonshire cooked (which consisted of all the usual items) was probably the tastiest I can remember due to the care in the preparation and the quality of ingredients.

We have stayed in many larger 4 & 5 star hotels in cities around the world so we feel that we have some knowledge and understanding to make comparisons. Quite clearly the Seawood Hotel is not trying to compare itself to these establishments, some of which can be large and impersonal, nor is it trying to emulate them, however where it does compare is with the quality and standards of what it is and what it does. This is a beautiful, intimate and homely hotel and Russ & Karinda go out of their way in providing for and attending to their guests and their every need.

We had an excellent stay, both relaxing and romantic, and when we return we will defiantly rebook at the Seawood. If you are looking at hotels in Lynton or Lynmouth we do not think you will better this place.

P.S. I think it is very poor for one individual to very publicly shout about his very personal dislikes such as : “He banged his knee on the bed post” .... well it is there and it does stick out but it is not hidden, there are street lamps in many walkways but we don’t walk into them all of the time - we are aware that they are there.
