We were unable to travel due to volcano ash so decided to get away at the last minute. We were so pleased with our choice and had a superb stay. The hotel has a very friendly feel and owners very helpful. Room very clean and lovely new bathrooms. Food excellent. Wonderful places to walk from the hotel. Can certainly recommend you stay.

We returned to the Seawood hotel to spend Christmas there this year. We had an amazing time. From the moment we walked through the door we were made to feel special. The rooms have been refurbished and are bigger with wonderful en suites. The hotel was very tastefully decorated and the food was wonderful. I cannot fault this hotel, it should be at least 4 star.
The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Lynton with its lovely shops and craft centre and a 5 minute drive from Lynmouth.
From the hotel itself you can walk to the valley of the rocks. It is an ideal base for walkers and dogs are welcome at the hotel.
Lynmouth has watersmeet which is a wonderful riverside walk.
Laceys cafe lynton allow dogs as do several pubs, try the Blue Ball at the top of lynton on the minehead road, more dogs than people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We stayed for a couple of nights just before the hotel shut for the winter and were delighted with it.
The views from the bedrooms over the coast were wonderful. The room was comfortable and the sauna was a wonderful bonus after a wet walk along the coast path.
However, the highlight was supper which was delicious and wonderfully presented.
We hope to be able to visit again when the hotel re-opens after the winter.

We would not hesitate to reccommend this Hotel to anyone, infact I would go out of my way to reccommend it.
The five course dinner was something to write home about, infact we haven't stopped boring our friends on how nice it was. Rarely have I had a meal that every course was absolute perfection and no I do not have shares in the Seawood Hotel!

A very last minute decision to go away for three days, resulted in a quick search for good value, highly rated accommodation in the lovely area of Lynton and Lynmouth. Having used and trusted the reviews on Trip Advisor many times before, it did not disappoint, and the reviews for The Seawood Hotel helped to make our choice easy. It has all been said in the other reviews, and so all that is left for us to say is a huge "Thank you" to Kerinda and Russ, who were not only the friendliest proprietors we have come across, but were also fully commited to making every aspect of our stay enjoyable and comfortable. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to others.

Right from the moment of arrival this hotel gave us a good feeling. The welcome from Russ and Kerinda (they took over the hotel in 2009) was warm, we were given help with luggage and complimentary refreshments. The 4-poster bed was comfortable, and the views from the room superb (all rooms have a sea view). The breakfast was excellent with a choice of items, cooked by Russ. We chose to eat in on one evening, the food was absolutely first-class even if a little pricey at £28.50 per head. However, this included post-prandial coffee/tea which was taken in the lounge amidst very convivial conversation with fellow-guests.
The hotel is very convenient for the Lynton-Lynmouth cliff railway, and has its own entrance gate right by the Lynton station
We definitely plan to return here for a longer break when time permits.

It is diificult to find the right balance between Dog Friendly and Luxury accommodation. For us the Seawood Hotel addressed our requirements perfectly. Lovely clean room with four poster bed and sea views. Excellent Breakfast which sets you up for walks in the area. Fantastic Five course meal in the evening.
