“Simply the best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 February 2011

Stayed for 1 night 22nd February. Hotel was perfect for a relaxing base for a holiday. Food was superb, beautifully presented, hot and delicious. Corinda and Russel were wonderful hosts and provided service that simply could not be faulted. The little extras such as coffee on arrival and a bottle of water in our room along with heavenly smelling handcream in the bathroom and the open fire lit for us in the evening in the lounge all made our stay extra special. Will return in the summer to take advantage of the views and sunshine on the decking! Keep up the good work!

We had a wonderful stay at the Seawood. The owners Russ and Kerinda were excellent hosts.
It was our wedding anniversary the day after our arrival, unbeknown to me, my husband arranged flowers to be delivered to the hotel, Kerinda took delivery of the flowers and kept them hidden and arrange for them to be on our breakfast table when we came down in the morning with a beautiful card from herself and Russ,we were very touched.

We had left it a little late to arrange dinner for our anniversary Kirenda, rang a restaurant she herself had used.( but we were unable to secure a table,) she asked if we would like to stay and have dinner at the hotel, she would make it as special as she can and we can honestly say the food was excellent, we were glad we had dinner there in fact we had dinner the following night too.
The food at breakfast and dinner were spot on.
Our room ( no 10) was spacious, comfortable, had great views and very elegantly decorated.
Russ and Kerinda looked after us so well, we felt part of the family, nothing was to much trouble always making sure we were ok.
We look forward to our next visit.

We had an absolutely lovely break staying at the seawood. The owners were so friendly and welcoming. The room we stayed in (room 3) was spacious, comfortable, had great views and was beautifully done out. The food was really good too. We had dinner there one night and everything was spot on, I would definitely recommend the chocolate fondant, it was to die for! The location was good too, not far from the centre of lynton and close to some great walking trails. All in all, we would not hesitate to recommend this place and hope to go back there soon.

We visited last Feb (2010) and now we want to visit again and thats why I am finally writing my review a year late, whilst checking prices for this years stay - Sorry for the delay!
The owners are so friendly and nothing is TOO much trouble for them.
It was a delightful stay from start to finish. Hotel is full of character, bedrooms & bathrooms recently refubished to a very high standard - tastefully decorated & comfortable too.
Full English Breakfasts, Superb Evening Meals (love the desserts! mmm!) Evening Bar, Wifi, Freeview Tvs with DvD player (so kids could watch a movie - while we were relaxing or getting ready), Beds made daily, Clean,,,,,,,, allround everything catered for.
Children were welcomed. (which is always a plus!)
Basically we loved it and are hoping to return VERY soon.
Thank you.

A nice place and worthy of a little time from me to write a review. Stayed 7 nights at the beginning of Dec '10 to get some walking in on Exmoor (during all the snow-not the best time for that).
First point re service was the call Russ made to my home on the morning of my arrival to try to warn me of the overnight snow and blocked roads. Unfortunately, I'd left just prior to the call and only just managed to make it through the snow but it was the thought that counts. I know, when you're the only guest in the hotel due to time of year and snow you do get personal service but from what I felt, if it was busy, you'd get the same (however it did feel like having my own personal butler for a few days, which was very nice). It's an old-style building but rooms and bathrooms are new and spotless. Bathrooms cleaned and beds re-made daily. Freesat TV's have DVD players built in, iPod connection and free wi'fi. Bar in the evenings - may have added a whiskey or two to my bill. I was there during the -7C cold spell In Dec '10 so they gave me an extra heater for the room but it wasn't really needed. Add to this the free upgrade to a double room (as they weren't fully booked) plus the excellent full English breakfasts means that it does stand up to it's reputation on this site. Yes I'd recommend it and I'd stay again.
