My husband, son, his girlfriend, Holly the bichon and I stayed here for 6 nights in August.
The apartment is in a very good location, just a minutes walk from the shops and attractions of Lynton and a 15 minutes walk downhill to Lynmouth. There are plenty of walks you can take from Lynton, either to The Valley of The Rocks along the coastal path or Watersmeet in the other direction. The whole coastline is beautiful.
There is no parking at the apartment but you can park in the pay and display car park which is just around the corner, the owner will arrange a cheap, weekly parking permit for you.
The apartment is spacious and the bedrooms are on different sides of the building. The furnishing is modern and comfortable. The bathroom has a large walk in shower but no bath. There is a dishwasher and washer/dryer in the kitchen and a log burner in the lounge.
The owner was helpful but quite difficult to contact, I found it was best to phone her at the Rockford Inn after 8.30pm.
The reason I am not giving the apartment 5 stars is due to a slight lack of attention on the cleaning, everything is clean on the surface but when I had to move some cushions on the sofa as I'd misplaced my phone, under the cushions was a lot of dust and crumbs, this was the same under the beds. This would not stop me using the apartment though.
We are just back from a great stay at The Globe Mews. What a fantastic place.
It's beautifully decorated, with lovely furnishings and finish. Every room was spotless and with everything you need. There's a great little courtyard to enjoy al fresco dining or drinkies.
The location is perfect too, close to all the amenities of Lynton and Lynmouth.
I am very lucky because I'm already booked in for another visit with some different friends - can't wait.
I would also absolutely recommend a visit to their pub, The Rockford, a few miles away. The service and food are well worth it. It's a lovely walk through Lynmouth, along to Watersmeet (stop and have a cream tea) then on to The Rockford.
We stayed in May with 2 friends, so there were four in our group altogether. The apartment is very nicely decorated and furnished and the location is great for exploring Lynton and Lynmouth. I would think it would also be ideal for people with physical disabilities as everything seemed very accessible. The only downsides were that it was a little on the small side for 2 couples, the dining table is tiny, and we could only just fit around it to have a meal. However we were comfortable enough, and the lounge area was really comfy with a 3 piece suite and a woodburner. Unfortunately though there was a lot of noise from the apartment above, in the form of footsteps, talking into the early hours, and children (or child ) running up and down the flat. It would probably have helped if the flat above was carpeted.
The apartment was just lovely. Very comfortable and clean. Will definitely be booking again. Couldn't fault a thing.
Lovely flat. Good rental for taking my 84 year old father. He has mobility problems but managed well here. We took suction grab handle, shower mat and additional step which were needed, as not standard. Entry is large cobbles which are uneven, but manageable with assistance for the elderly.
Husband and I and adult daughter stayed for three nights in this quiet, perfectly designed and outfitted two bedroom apartment. Has a very comfortable living space beside a well equipped kitchen. The spa bathroom was gorgeous with lots of hot water for showers. The bedrooms were on either side of the living space providing lots of privacy and were set up with very comfy beds and lovely linens. There is a little outside patio for morning coffee with a private garden. Located right in the village of Lynton, just around the corner from a variety of coffee shops, cafés,and speciality stores. The coastal tours are a short walk away. We had wonderful dinner at the Rising Sun Inn in Lynmouth, reservations recommended.
