This hotel appealed to us as we could take our dog and you would have no idea it was a dog hotel, it was immaculately clean and a great set up for dog owners and walkers alike with an entrance room all equipped for cleaning and drying off.
The rooms were a little old fashioned but it is being modernised and they have everything you could need.
Kate was lovely and made the place feel very homely and she cooks a mean breakfast :)

Room Tip: Ensure your room is far away from the railway if you want to sleep in. It’s not loud however it'...

This hotel booking was last minute and am so glad we picked to stay here, and the bonus is they allow dogs. The room was clean, no signs of it being a dog friendly hotel in that there was no smell or hair etc, it is not the most modern of rooms, but a nice clean bed and plenty of space makes up for that. The view was FABULOUS, location FABULOUS, freindly family feel. The breakfast was lovely and a lovely little bar to grab a drink and sit next to the famous cliff railway.

We only planned to stay one night. We stopped off at Porlock, Dunster, Minehead and Watchet thinking we may stay at one of these places the next day, but within 4 hours of leaving..... luckily our room was still available and we rushed back.

Will stay here again for sure and thank you so much for making an impromptu trip to Devon one of the best I have had for a long time.

Room Tip: You need to get a room with a view over to the east of the coast, you could sit and watch that view...

POSITIVES:
Lovely friendly feel
- Friendly, helpful staff
- Keeps you fit if you walk the hill to Lynton every day (take a torch if walking at night as limited lighting)
- On the path of some lovely walks
-Beautiful views from the bedroom
-Lovely breakfast everyday
-Nice to have the option of a lounge and bar and restaurant in the hotel (although we didn't use it)
SUGGESTIONS
- Would be nice to have some info about the restaurant in the hotel in the room so we knew when breakfast was, and what nights there was the dinner option etc (but this is a very small and really not negative comment!)

Room Tip: Try to get a sea view - the views are amazing :)

This guesthouse is immaculately maintained and is run with clear systems to ensure efficient and consistent service. Our hosts were very accommodating and we found their local recommendations very reliable. I believed that the decor was designed to be traditional and there were many quality touches in our room. This is good place for a quiet stay with excellent views.

We spent one night at this hotel on the way own to Cornwall and enjoyed our stay. The welcome was warm and the room was good (Room 10) with great views. The hotel is central so we had easy access to bars, restaurants and the cliff railway (which we could see from our window). Breakfast was good. Only one small issue - tha car park is quite small. However, I would recommend it.

Well we did a one night stay on the way to Cornwall. We were wanting just a bed for the night, and had read a few negative reviews but our stay was very enjoyable. The room was spotless, the bed comfy, the room spacious and the view was amazing out of the window. Service was helpfull and breakfast quick and very pleasent with the veranda open looking down over the sea. The room we had had an additional bunk bed so good for a family weekend (room 10)
Location wise it was a 5 minute walk to Lynton with its shop and restaurants, very convenient, and even short walk to the cliff railway to go down to the lower town.
The only things I would say is that there is no lift, so if you have trouble carrying suitcases the top floor might not be best choice, and the car parking was a bit crammed.

I think one's enjoyment of this hotel will depend up on how much you value your room view and if you get a room that capitalises on the amazing view that is available.
Fortunately we had a corner room on the 2nd floor that had two windows that overlooked the bay and the coast line below.
And it is a fantastic view and one that makes this hotel very nicely situated within Lynton.

The hotel itself has an aged feeling and therefore one should not expect brand new decor, but if you go with this knowledge and just accept the hotel for its location and views then it makes it value for money.

The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is up to scratch with the usual choice of 'full english' or cereal, fruit and toast.

The hotel is also situated on one of the coastal paths which if you walk westwards you end up in the valley of the rocks which on a clear day is a spectacle.
Or if you end up down near the shore there is a funicular tram that can bring you back up the cliff and stops just above the location of the hotel. We found it very handy after a long day walking around.
