We had planned to stay in Lynmouth after a 20 km walk from Porlock, but the place was too touristic and pricy so we hiked a steep extra mile to the neighbouring Lynton. The effort paid off: Even though Lynton didn´t have much to offer, this B&B felt like a cozy paradise. The host gave us a warm welcome and let us choose between two rooms, both charmingly furnished and very clean. We took the upper one, with a nice view on town (another plus of being uphill!). The breakfast was a treat, with a variety of options (including a vegetarian dish), most of them made of local produce.

My wife and I had a wonderful four night stay at Gable Lodge, the propriortors were both friendly and helpful, nothing was to much trouble and we are looking forward to returning in the near future. The breakfasts are one of the best you will get anywhere and dont forget to fill in your choice of dinner off the dinner menu, you cannot go wrong, lovely home cooking at a very good price. We tried eating out on one of the evenings at the Butter Churn in Lynton (never again), so, if you do decide to stay at Gable Lodge, try the dinner on your first night, then go out in the town and try and find a better meal,if you can. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Gable Lodge Guest House. The rooms were comfortable, warm and homely and the breakfast cooked by the owner was fantastic. The guesthouse is in the centre of Lynton and a quick stroll to pubs and restaurants as well as the start of the magnificent walk to Valley of the Rocks.

The owner was very personable and helpful and provided advice about walks and activities.

Although we only spent one night in this guest house, it was really worth the visit. Owners made us feel very welcome and had given a lot of attention to detail. We have 2 young children and this is one of the few guest houses that will accommodate children. Excellent breakfast and service - would definitely recommend it for all.

We stayed and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, The best breakfasts with a good choice to suit all.

The situation is great as close to all amenities and good access to Lynmouth and the surrounding areas.
Also great to get parking, not that we used the car as the walks are spectacular.

Go you wont be disappointed!!
