Very nice hotel, clean, friendly and helpful, close to Plymouth Hoe. Cost very reasonable and no complaints. Unusually dogs are allowed; saw several going in and out but all well behaved and never a problem. I would go there again if I needed to visit Plymouth. My sister and I had to attend a funeral, so we spent only 2 nights in the midst of the airplane crisis due to volcanic dust from Iceland. Travel was a problem as out flights were cancelled without warning, so we had a long and tiring diversionary journey by rail so were delighted to sleep in nice comfortable beds - both our rooms were en-suite (as I believe they all are), and I had a truly delicious full English breakfast each morning to set me up for the day. Could not fault the hotel, especially at the price, with a nice quiet situation only a few hundred yards from the Hoe lawns. We are both elderly, so we used taxis to get around most of the time and the hotel staff were very helpful in getting one to the railway station on our departure.

Staff were friendly, chatty and helpful. Some were French, but had good English skills. The breakfasts were quick to arrive and excellent.

The room was basic, but had a TV and motorized Orthopedic mattress. It was well cleaned.

Well situated to go to either the City Centre or the Barbican in the evenings.

Overall, for the price it was an excellent place to stay.

I staye here for 3 nights on Business. I often have to stay in hotels and this was by far one of the best I have stayed in for a long long time.It is a beautiful Georgian building located just 500yards from the Hoe with increrdible views of the Sound and yet only 5 minutes walk from the city centre and the attractions of the Barbican. THe rooms were light airy and to be frank the cleanest Ive been in for a long time, one of the advantages of not being a large anomymous chain of big hotels. The owners were friendly and welcoming without being intrusive, anything I wanted to know they'd either use their own local knowledge or find out. The cooked breakfast was absolutely superb, proper sausages, perfectly cooked eggs and not a drop of fat on my plate.
Ive got to come back to Plymouth on business again for two weeks and I dont think anyone has to guess where Im staying, plus Ive saved my company money by not staying in the big anonymous chain. Im recommending this hotel to all my family and friends as well as business assocaites.
Thank you Helen for such a comfortable few days away from home. Superb

I had a long weekend in Plymouth as part of a business training and team building arranged with my company. The level of service provided by Camelot was outstanding-the right balance between being professional and giving an individual level of service.

The breakfast food was very enjoyable, packed lunches available for day trips-while Sunday lunch was a feast of taste and enjoyment. Choices are available for individual diet and preference.

The hotel rooms are very comfortable, with multi-medi facility of tv, music, DVD combi. the level of tidiness was faultless in the hotel-while having the parking permit facility was invaluable as a group of car drivers.

All together, I would recoommend Camelot for business, pleasure-long and short stay and will be booking our next trip quite soon. The view of the nearby harbour and easy access to all the facilities offered by Plymouth made this a unique and memorable stay at Camelot-truly a lot and more.

This hotel is in a perfect location and gives easy access (by car or foot) to all Plymouths attractions
Rooms were clean, with fresh linen and tea and coffee on tap.
All staff were friendly and did everything they could to make my stay a good experience.
All meals were well prepared, tasty and amply proportioned and all served by friendly staff in the cosy atmosphere of their well decorated restaurant.
Management were always available to answer questions about the local area, travel arrangements and what to see in the local area.
I would highly recoment this hotel to anyone visiting Plymouth or surrounding area
My company was so impressed with the service and accomidation they are booking this holel up for their next event

I normally go for hotel chains, but will think again after a very pleasant experience at the Camelot! Arrived to a warm welcome, given advice on parking and the local area with time taken to provide a map of the vicinity. Just £2 per day for a parking permit seemed good value compared to some city centre parking and just a 5 minute walk into the Centre of Plymouth it was ideal for shopping, restaurants and night life. A 1 minute walk in the opposite direction takes you to the scenic Hoe and a further 10 minutes along to the Barbican, a selection of bars, restaurants overlooking the harbour...
The room was clean, tidy and a good space. An excellent breakfast, even accomodated rice for breakfast on request and a good choice to start the day well fueled. Would certainly recommend with free wi-fi, comfortable surroundings, great hospitality and very pleasant hosts....
