“Great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 August 2014

Stayed here for four nights . location brilliant for the Hoe and the fireworks which was one reason we stayed also for the theatres as it is a short walk to the Theatre Royal and the Plymouth Pavilions which we also attended for a show. Clean well appointed and management and staff were all friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Well impressed. There are so many restaurants within walking distance that I can understand why evening meals are not offered.

Room Tip: We had a room at the back of the hotel that was on the second floor which was quiet and not to much...

Perfect place for you to enjoy the national fireworks championship. Breakfast how you want it and bar prices as good as a cheap pub. Very clean. Great staff all very friendly. Just a stones throw from Plymouth hoe and a enjoyable walk to the harbour. Just a perfect place to stay.

Just had a 4 day stay in the Grosvenor Hotel .Ots my second stay and I would Definitely stay again ..Rooms clean and tidy every day ..Staff very friendly .The breakfast really nice good choice .. The only thing that's disappointing really is the parking very hard to find somewere near the hotel and also pity there wasn't an evening g menu for food but apart from that the hotel is faultless .love staying there can't wait to come back again !!!

We stayed for two nights as we were visiting a relative in hospital. We had a room in the new extension which was very clean and newly decorated. I think there are a couple of finishing touches needed; there were blinds at the windows and curtain rails but no curtains as yet. Also, a picture or two would brighten the room up. The bathroom was compact, although there was everything you need apart from a soap dish in the shower.
Breakfast is served in a dining room in the basement. A good selection of cereals and fruit was available and the cooked breakfast was good, the portion size was just right - not too large. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.
The hotel is in a lovely position with The Hoe only a minutes walk away. There are metered parking spaces in the area, we had to park a small distance from the hotel. The hotel can give a days parking pass for £3.00. We would definitely stay at the Grosvenor again.

This hotel was fantastic in many ways, clean modern decor with comfortable bar, dining and TV areas. The selection for breakfast that was included in the very reasonable price was excellent. A small criticism was that the rooms could be updated slightly and were very hot making it difficult to sleep as there was no aircon and unfortunately opening our bedroom window made our room accessible from outside. Again due to our room position (room 15) we were above the kitchen and made for an early wake up when staff were organising breakfast. These two minor things though would not put me off staying at the Grosvenor again.

Myself and my partner stayed at the Grosvenor for four nights in the penthouse suite, part of an extension to the hotel, newly decorated. A lovely large bedroom and bathroom, spotlessly clean and quiet.
The location was brilliant as we were a minute walk from the Plymouth Hoe, where you'll see Smeatons Tower. A longer walk around the corner takes you to the harbour where there are lot's of interesting shops and fish & chip restaurants.
A good selection of breakfast each morning at the Grosvenor of cereals, juices, hot drinks, full english, fruit and yoghurt. There was a lovely little room next to reception, beautifully decorated, to relax in outside your hotel room. The receptionists were very polite and I also liked the idea of the ready food and drinks options for guests whi did knot want to leave the hotel.

Room Tip: if you don't like lots of stairs, don't go for the penthouse suite, but apart from that it w...

We stayed for three mid-week nights and, having read the reviews on Trip Advisor, were well pleased with our choice of hotel.
We only had two fairly minor gripes: the windows had security cables on them - undoubtedly for 'elf and safety - which meant they would only open about three inches. The weather was very warm and this meant that the room was stuffy and sleeping disturbed. Also, and this was true of all the hotels in the vicinity, parking was in short supply. There were a few places at the rear, and to be fair I was always lucky enough to find a vacant one, but I can imagine that this could present a problem as the altenative would be costly parking on the street.
Other than that we had an excellent stay and like Plymouth enormously.
