Visited with last minute booking to hotel as seeing John Bishop at Plymouth Pavilions.
Hotel is great location only 2 minutes from the Hoe and 10 minutes to Pavilions.
Staff very friendly and bar stays open until 11.30pm.
Lots of stairs which we didn't mind. We were in deluxe double on 3rd floor. Room not over large but comfortable and clean.
The only thing we would have liked is bottled water in the room.
Breakfast was good but served on small plates. Larger plates would have made it easier to eat. Service was excellent always asking if we would like more toast. Coffee however was served from a machine and not to our taste. Would have preferred a cafeteria of real coffee.
Overall we would return. Good value

We arrived on the Friday and left on the Sunday. From the outset we were incredibly happy. The place looked fresh and as we entered the reception we were greeted by a lovely chap who checked us in.

The room was massive and so was the bathroom. Now, nothing too luxurious but still very nice and the bed was amazing.

I have only given 4 stars as there were some issues, mainly the stairs, way too many to keep lugging bags and luggage around, we were at the top! I know there is nothing that can be done about this but I still marked it down.

Well worth a visit, good spot, good place and good stay.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a lovely review!

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us.

We do have rooms over five floors here so there are a lot of stairs and we unfortunately don't have a lift. If we know in advance we can try and accommodate you on a lower floor if stairs are a problem. Our staff will also always help with any bags.

Hopefully we will see you again if you decide to visit Plymouth in the future.

Wasn't sure what to expect of this hotel but not disappointed. Excellently presented, tasteful decor - not too fussy , not too understated - just right. Top marks for cleanliness and 5 star service from the staff who were friendly, helpful and generated a relaxed atmosphere for the guests.
Breakfasts were good standard but dining area had very poor acoustics - watch out for this if you are not a morning person - very noisy.
Brilliant idea to provide bar snacks and also allow guests to order in take away for the evening and provide dining space, cutlery and crockery for this..
Location was fabulous - easy walking distance for most things, especially the Hoe and the Barbican. To top it all off - the Poppies are in town right now and look stunning at night.

Room Tip: Check what floor your room will be on as no lift- could be four flights of stairs and possibly five .Staff will take bags to room for you

Last minute booking. Totally not disappointed. Greeted by friendly receptionist who was full of useful information. The room was spotless and simply decorated. Comfy for a one or two night stay. Nice hot shower and usual compliment of shampoo and conditioner etc.
Breakfast room was set out nice, full range of juices, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, croissants. Coffee was help yourself from a fancy machine.
I opted for fruit bowl and beans on toast, only because I couldn’t face a full breakfast that morning. Very nicely served and presented. The morning staff I met were jolly, polite and engaged in conversation. So close to the Hoe and just a short walk to the Barbican in one direction or the Pavilion in the other. Happy to stay here again, either on my own again or with a partner. You would not be disappointed.
On arrival I parked in the metered bays outside and thought the hotel offered free parking, anyway paid the overnight fee plus two hours to cover til night fee kicked in (total £5.00). When I checked in the first thing the receptionist said was have you parked outside as we have a free car park around the back. So don’t pay whilst you unload, go in or drive around the back to their car park. Enjoy your stay.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a great review!

I'm really pleased that you found our team here at The Grosvenor friendly and polite and you enjoyed your stay with us.

We do offer free parking in our car park; this is run on a first come first served basis. A parking voucher is available for £5 for the on-street parking and this will allow you to park on the road until 10 am the following morning.

I hope you decide to stay with us again and maybe we'll see you again in the future.
