“Lovely warm welcome, lovely people & hospitality but generally in need of a refurb”
Reviewed 27 September 2011

This was a flying visit to a special event, we were late booking which was foolish as the event meant heavy bookings over the whole week. We were very grateful to find the Cassandra had availablity.
The owners are lovely, warm and generous people which almost made up for the rather crowded, tired rooms and uncomfortable beds.

Likes:
Warmth of Welcome, Brilliant Shower- better than many hotels, Solid Breakfast, great owners.

Dislikes:
Uncomfortable bed, tired decoration, poor/no parking.

As there are so many low-price hotel offers this could be a problem for the Cassandra.

We stayed at the Cassandra Guest House for 3 nights whilst visiting our daughter. The patrons, Jeff & Jude were delightful and catered to our every need. They also served a lovely Full English Breakfast! We plan to stay there again on our next trip. Thanks!!

travelled down from manchester to visit family with my elderly mum arrived at cassandra house looked like a nice place to stay. told they had over booked this weekend and had no room for us. we didnt know what to do now, it was a busy bank holiday weekend and everywhere else was fully booked. got handed a check with our money back as we had book 2 month earlier. so now we had to find that money again to pay at another place. luckily we got the last room at plymouth guest house about 3-4 buildings down. if we hadnt had got that i wouldnt have known what we would have done. had lovely time in the end clean rooms great service.

Myself, pensioner mum & 10 year old son have just returned from a weekend break at The Cassandra Guest House & have had a great stay. I am not too bothered about mod cons as long as I have a shower & the place is clean which this certainly was. The family room was at the top of the house but nothing was too much trouble to help us with our luggage & the room was clean. When we had our breakfast, the cereal was ad lib & the full English was delicious being piping hot even until the last mouthfull & was cooked fresh to order, what more could you want.
It seemed to us that nothing would have been a problem if you had asked & on the day of our departure our luggage was kept so that we could do a days shopping without having to drag it with us. All in all our stay was really nice & very good value for money & the owners were brilliant! Thanx to them both & we will certainly stay with them again, Donna x

Okay, so there's some swirly patterned carpets and various pastel wall colours, but isn't that what B&B in Britain is all about? Great location and easy walk to the Hoe or city. Friendly people who do not impose but do provide the service needed. Breakfasts to sustain a Dakota cowboy, in an English traditional "full" way of course. Worth calling ahead for parking, though we were supplied some free and easy. Highly recommended for value stay.
