“Amazing place”
Reviewed 10 September 2013

Avery enjoyable visit. A fascinating history and a wonderfully well kept house and grounds.

Laid out in such a way that the shop, plant sales and cafe can be enjoyed without paying the entrance fee. But you will of course have to pay to see the house and gardens which really is a must! Beautiful maintained with views of the sea.

Free parking for members, closed Mondays

“Saltram Gardens”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

One of my favourite places to explore ,relax and enjoy. Views are beautiful and walks around to take at your leisure. Great to go as a family or to walk your dog's. I personally like the bird life and cows close by . Well kept grounds grounds to see all for free. I like to end the day with a visit in the shop then a nice hot chocolate and cake in the cafe.

“Interesting house and gardens but disappointing cafe”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

The house is very interesting and a surprising timewarp of Georgian life. The grounds are lovely and there is a good walk by the estuary.

But the café - Oh dear! We each had "soup and a roll" and this turned out to be a meagre portion of soup with a hunk of stale, poor white bread, all for the princely sum of £4.35. Come on National Trust, clean up your act. This is not the first time I have had such poor food at an NT house. Also £2.50 for a bottle of apple juice is on the pricey side.

“Relaxing”
Reviewed 30 August 2013

Weather was not that good, just needed to get some fresh air so decided on Saltram and a long walk. You could just see that the new shoots were trying to come through so that brightened the thought that Spring was well on its way. Some impressive trees and evergreens. Well pathed for all weathers and footfall.
