I stayed recently as I was working in the area. It's location is excellent for the hoe, barbican and town centre all a short walk away. The staff were lovely and the rooms very clean and well decorated. The breakfast was particularly delicious and nothing was too much trouble. If you like the personal touch as opposed to hotel chains try this one. There is limited parking and as I was working late I had a quiet basement room.

Stayed here for one night. Great location for Hoe, Barbican and shops all very close walking distance. We were Impressed with customer service, staff were polite and helpful and the hotel has a very welcoming atmosphere. The accommodation was good-bed comfortable and room quiet. Excellent breakfast with a wide choice. Would definitely book here again when next in Plymouth.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights. The accommodation was good - comfortable bed, efficient shower and a flat screen TV. The house itself has kept many original features - we particularly liked the staircase. The breakfast was excellent - my husband's kedgeree was tasty and beautifully presented as was my scrambled egg with smoked salmon. There are other choices on the menu too. There is a large lounge downstairs and a bar which, sadly, we did not have time to use.
There is parking outside and the Imperial is within easy walking distance ( a bit uphill) of the Hoe and (downhill) of the city centre. Although the guest house is centrally located there is little or no traffic noise.
One of the best features of the Imperial is the owners/staff. From the service at breakfast to the assistance with the intricacies of the TV remote and everything in between the staff were smiling and helpful at all times.
Hint: if you have a lot of luggage discuss your room requirements with the guest house as there is no lift.

Room was very small but spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. Lots of hot water and nice big shower. Breakfast was great - best mushrooms ever! Staff were very friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: our room was at the back and did nothave much of a view but it was very quiet.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The staff were wonderful, always smiling and willing to help. The room was spacious and immaculate. The bed was very comfortable & the shower lovely and powerful. The there is a small bar and a large lounge in the hotel which is lovely to sit in, chat to the staff & other guests, before going out for the evening. The breakfast was superb, really set us up for the day, so much to choose from and always well presented. The hotel is a short walk from the gorgeous hoe and the town centre, so perfect for everything. You won't need to use your car! We will definitely be going back for a stay. It is a pleasure to go there.

Lovely hotel in the immediate vicinity of the Hoe and the city centre, great breakfast and lovely staff. Rooms are spacious and while a bit warm for my taste, leave nothing to wish for. Great base to explore the coastline and for a range of good restaurants, too.
