Loved this pub when I visited last week. Very different from when I lived nearby 3 years ago. Seems it has new management who have refurbished the whole place and revamped the menu.

Brilliant service and prices and very good food. They obviously take care of the place and the staff are very friendly.

Will definitely go back next time I'm in the area.

Went to this pub being new to this town was welcomed by friendly staff!,
Menu was easy going snacks to main meals plus small portions for my children. Fish was very popular with the people next to me so tried it myself .must say they were right great sized portion batter was crisp with chips and salad too boot. Wife enjoyed her lasagne and kids cleared there plates too.
Now we visited when we can even for our family get togethers as they took bookings for are party Sunday roasts was on and we all enjoyed over a couple drinks . Thank you to the staff and be back very soon !!!!!

We have eaten here twice recently, as it is good value and well cooked, all piping hot and tasty. The pub has undergone a refurbishment recently and is a world apart from what it used to be - for the better - it's light and airy and clean and fresh.
A large Sunday roast is £5 and the drinks are reasonably priced too. They say they don't take bookings but we didn't have to wait too long for a table.
The staff were friendly and very helpful.
They take cleaning seriously, on one occasion when we popped in for a drink, we noted that the staff cleaned the same table 3 times! You have to agree that this is serious attention to cleaning!
We will definitely be going again.

Pop in here occasionally when we call on friends close by. As at 26.2.12 the Tripadvisor posting details are mostly wrong. They have the wrong telephone code and number, an Exeter postcode and fail to contain the critical word 'Oreston' after 'the Quay' which even in Plymouth confuses it with three or four other areas in the city, not least the Barbican.

As to the pub itself it is OK as a place for a quick drink but the one snack meal we had wasn't up to much. It was right beside the water when I was a lad but for decades has been back beside the infill reclamation which reduces the character a good deal. Unless you love in Oreston then it is a long way out of the rest of Plymouth if you are thinking of calling in or are not driving so that you can drink.
