“Not to bad ”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 May 2014 via mobile

I stayed here for 5 nights and had a room on the 3rd floor facing the back, room 321.
The room and bed where comfy and a big improvement to the beds they used to have.
Staff are friendly and welcoming and room cleaned well daily.
I was woken up a few times with doors banging from other rooms, but the real complaint I have is the smell, I can only describe it as very strong urine and was more noticeable when I woke up.

Ideal location for Plymouth City Centre, close off site parking, shops and places of interest all within walking distance. The noise in our 1st floor room eminating from the 24hr Gym was not acceptable.

Last stayed here 4 years ago and vowed to never again, it was dated, scruffy and downright unpleasant. Took a chance this week and delighted by the improvements - huge beds, toiletries, huge fluffy towels...great, I will return!

Stayed here for one night last week with my husband and teenage daughters and found it excellent value for money. Location could not be better just on the edge of the city centre and minutes from shops and The Hoe, 15 minutes walk to The Barbican & 2 minutes from Wetherspoons on Union Street. Room was clean & comfortable and no noise was experenced from the other rooms. The only thing not provided was air con or a fan in the room as it gets quite hot and being a high rise hotel with the windows only opening a couple of inches. Would stay again but not in the warmer months!!

We spent 1 night here on our way to Cornwall - great value for money for a 1 night stay. We booked with late rooms as I didn't want to fill in a long form and probably endless e mails . Check in was very smooth we took the option to do this with a person rather than the machine. !!
The rooms are fine and clean and with a comfy bed - there is little or no extras 2 bath towels 1 hand towel 2 small soap bottles. The location was great plenty of car parks - we parked on street as from 16-00 to 10-00 is free -a 10 minutes walk to hoe and the hotel is surrounded by nice restaurants to suit all

We stayed for a long weekend and had a good deal for a two night stay, after reading reviews of the noise on arrival we asked for a high room at the back of the hotel which reception gave us the room was basic but a comfy bed with clean fresh linen, pillows hard! Our room overlooked the car park to the back of the hotel which cost £6.00 for 24 hours....But BEWARE as we could see the car park from our room the attendants are like hawks waiting for tickets to run out!!
lovely breakfast at Wetherspoons just down the road & staff were very helpful
Plymouth was lovely and will probably stay again.

Stayed with 2 female family members for a party near the city, I am not one for staying around noisy pubs but was pleasantly surprised. Room was very clean with a bath and shower, ample pillows bedding and tea and coffee supplies. Had a lovely nights sleep no noise heard, we were at the front overlooking the cinema. Very modern would stay again if needed.
