Gets very busy on sunny days but if you want to recharge your batteries not too far from the city center.
A very small beach, good views to Mt Edgcumbe, and Plymouth Sound. Watch the Britany ferry and other shipping.
I once saw a seal
Not enough to spend a lot of time really good to see the sun setting.

We walk around here regularly, its just a short walk from the car park to the end point so good if you only have a short time. In the summer is usually full of families playing with children and having BBQ's but does quieten down in the winter months. Lots of younger people do park up there during the day to eat lunch so parking is usually fairly sparse but can normally find a space. Avoid after dark though as the cars and teenagers come out...

Great place to walk dog, go fishing 2 hours either side of high tide. Free car park gets filled up with people trying to avoid paying to park in the Royal William Yard. It is also a good place to watch the sun setting some spectacular views. There are many 2nd world war gun emplacements worth a visit. If you have the time visit Royal William Yard which is being refurbished (almost completed) and has a number of restaurants worth a visit.

A small area well hidden down on the waterfront in Plymouth near to Royal William Yard. Devils point was once a well-fortified area marking a last stop line to prevent invaders storming Devonport dockyard any many of the old fortifications can still be seen. The view of Plymouth Sound, Drakes Island and Mount Edgcumbe from here are spectacular and it is a good place to watch the shipping movements. A small car park is free and quite popular during the daytime. Avoid this area at night as it attracts some of the more undesirable characters in society and is a mecca for boy racers.
A small take away cafe is located a short walk from the main car park. A new set of steps have been installed to gain access to Royal William Yard, an ex-Royal Navy Victualing Yard which has been transformed and has several small cafes.

Used to be a favourite with a lot of people Fantastic views over the water to Plymouth sound and out to sea. Unfortunately an old navel place has opened up nearby and most people who work there go to restaurants park in this car park hence it is now hard to find a spot
