Love this themed cafe so much l visit about once a week. Run by a lovely lady who is a fabulous cook and the fact the menu is being expanded to give you more choices is great news.

A little hidden gem in the heart of Plymstock. Far better then the cafes on the Broadway. If you visit here you won't be disappointed and will want to visit again and again.

The Blitz Café, set back from the maim road appears from the outside to be someone's living room. However, step through the door and you are transported into 1940s UK in the middle of the Second World War.

With the music of the wartime period softly echoing around the walls and the newspaper clippings, posters and decor of the time surrounding you, the effect is great. Atmospherically, this café caters to a specific customer, but even if it isn't perfect for you, it is difficult not to be taken in by the effort behind the scene. The café is also peppered with books and pamphlets from the time, encouraging customers to have a look.

The coffee is high quality rocca, made well and with care. The food, although I did not have any, was hand made for other customers with supreme care.

The member of staff was friendly, cheerful and could not be faulted.

Overall, a great atmosphere, good drinking and a great escape from the outside world.

Whilst visiting my brother in Plymouth he took us out to this lovely cafe in Plymstock. Tucked down a side street (not visible from the road!) it's a brilliant idea for a cafe, I'm a WW2 enthusiast so my brother knew I'd love it - good, fresh food, friendly service, some nice touches such as copies of old wartime newspapers, an old clock, brick wallpaper & poppy cups! The scones were enormous - a lovely selection of toasted sandwiches and my Dad enjoyed the homemade soup! Would be a great place to take children for lunch to learn about the wartime era. Would definitely visit again.
