“A great little place!”
Reviewed 7 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We just needed somewhere near Plymouth to sleep for a couple of nights - and this was great. We really enjoyed going out for a short walk in the evenings and watching the sea view from the lounge! A great find for us!

The chalet has been finished and equipped to a very high standard - clean , comfortable , relaxing and benefitting from one of the best views to be found anywhere . The beach is seconds away. - as is the coastal path . Highly recommended.both indoors and out .

“Comfortable accommodation with a great view”
Reviewed 28 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

This holiday bungalow is clean and comfortable. It is not large, but we found we had enough space for two adults and two small children. The second bedroom contains two futons, which meant we could use one as a bed for the older child and move the other to make space for a travel cot. The washing machine was also a big plus! The bungalow is at the end of a long row of holiday homes, but it felt private and was right on the seafront. The coastal path was very accessible for a walk. The only negative points were that the person staying before us had not washed up very well, and the heating took us a couple of days to understand. Some more inforemation about how the storage heaters work would have been helpful.

Hi
Thank you for taking the time to provide constructive feedback about the chalet.

I will review the instructions on heating to see how they can be improved upon. In addition, I will ensure that the kitchen utensils are checked after each guest who stays.

Thank you again, and I hope to hear from you in the future.

kind regards
Caroline.

“A little gem with a fantastic view”
Reviewed 13 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

The owners have equipped the chalet to the highest standard and it is clean, fresh and bright. The location is at the more peaceful end of Bovisand Park and the views over Plymouth Sound are stunning. I knew of the location from my childhood and had always wanted one of the chalets - our stay did not disappoint and I would recommend the accommodation to anyone wanting to enjoy a little piece of seaside heaven.

“New Year retreat”
Reviewed 8 March 2014 for a stay in December 2013

I have held back from submitting my second review as I selfishly wanted to keep this place as my own little retreat. The location is superb just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the City but not to far to nip into town if you want too. At night you can see the distant lights of Plymouth across the bay and the boats meandering across the bay. The tranquillity of the location is only disturbed by the crashing of the waves against the rocks on the small cove nearby.

We stayed in the Storms at the tail end of 2013, due to the location of the chalet we didn't suffer from the horrific winds but saw the spectacular show which mother nature threw upon the bay, truly awe inspiring

Have to say I was a little apprehensive about staying for a week at the chalet particularly during the winter months but I needn't of worried. The chalet was very warm and cosy and the relatively small space didn't really bother us and was sufficient for the whole week. The freeview on the TV was a god send as getting out and walking with the bad weather was a no no. The TV was a little on the small side but we brought our own flat screen 32 inch with us as well, maybe the lodge would benefit from having a 32 in the future, there is plenty of room for one.

The last time I stayed was for three nights, have to say there is so much to do around Plymouth even in the winter so we were fully entertained for our entire stay. This little place is just ideal every single thing you need for your stay is thought of. The oven is very good although I would recommend some better written instructions as I struggled to get the hob to work initially and had to rack my brains as to why it wasn't working. In respect of the folding beds in the small room from my first visit to this location I realised from my sons feedback that the mattresses were very hard, we brought some inflatable mattresses with us this time and these more than sufficed. My two lads are 10 and 16 so I guess smaller kids may not be too bothered by them. The bed in the main bedroom was more than comfortable for my wife and I.

Value for money here is also second to non, I think the price is set about right to keep it very competitive and the accommodation your getting for the money is good. If I were to improve the lodge id maybe consider adding wireless and maybe satellite TV but to do so would surely add more to the cost of stopping and also attract even more people to use it. No leave it as it is ;-) Great place, great value and ill certainly return again and again, its my families little secret. If your looking for a peaceful retreat with idyllic views and walks and you have transport to get you there this is a must.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about the chalet and so pleased that you are returning for a third time!

You (or your son) may also be pleased to hear that we are in process of changing the futon beds so that your sons and future guests will have a more comfortable sleep.

I will keep you posted if there are any other changes in the chalet.

Thanks again for the feedback

kind regards

I went to this chalet for the first time and was very happy with my three day stay. It was comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable. The chalet is beautiful, very clean, comfortable beds and clean wash room. It offers sea and mountain view which was very relaxing. A special word for the owner who was very nice and welcoming.

“Lovely little cottage with great sea views”
Reviewed 29 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

This is a lovely little cottage which was ideal for us - two adults and two very young children. It's obviously been recently refurbished and has everything you need for a week away.
With superb views of Plymouth harbour and set in a quiet holiday park the cottage is perfect for costal walks and as a base to get out and about around South Devon. We had some lovely days out to the local towns and National Trust sights.
There was also a great cafe on site and local pubs in short driving distance that served good food.
We'd highly recommend going and are planning on booking again for next year.
