“Family Room”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 September 2012

As like many reviews before, we cannot fault the staff, food or size of room at this PI. However, the room was hot and the supplied fans did little to change that. With 4 people in the room and fairly warm temperatures outside having a goods night sleep was not an option.
The windows only open at low level so warm air cannot escape from the room. The room temperature control is useless as it only switches on an electric heater - no air conditioning is available.
The car park is small for the amount of guests, some people had problems finding spaces. Locality is good for visiting Plymouth City Center, The Barbican and the National Aquarium (5 mins away) I would give this PI 5 stars but until the room temperature is sorted this is not an option.

Enjoyed our stay immensely. Immaculate rooms. Well located for the Plymouth Barbican. Situated at a very picturesque harbour. The only downside was its close proximity to nightclubs resulting in a certain level of noise on some evenings. Apart from that great.

Stayed with family on the 17th August (3 month old and 4 month old) in a family room. Windows were open all night and fans on yet the room temperature remained 28 degrees which was a concern with a young baby (increased risk of cot death), it was only 17 outside! Fans were provided but did not lower the temperature of the room.

It was a catch 22 situation as the noise from outside continued throughout the night so we were awoken from the street noise (pubs and clubs) so little sleep was had by all. This actually spoilt the first few days of our holiday in France by the time we caught up!

I feel sorry for the staff as it is clearly a building design fault, however they were very dismissive of a foreign visitor at reception who was also concerned for her children and the comfort of the room.

Used restaurant and recieved very good service and good food.

We usually love Premier Inn and stay at them regularly. Disappointed with this stay!

Thank you for your review.

It really matters to us that our guests have a comfortable nights sleep, and we sincerely apologise that on this occasion we failed to provide this.

We are well aware of the issue of high room temperatures, and are currently in the process of installing air conditioning into all of our hotel branches.

However, this will be a lengthy process, so in the meantime the management team at the hotel have done all they can to help reduce room temperatures.

It is a shame that your stay was also tainted by noise; please be assured that the hotel staff will do all they can to prevent disturbances like this in the future.

Please be assured your comments have been noted and will be fully investigated.

Once again thank you for your review, we look forward to welcoming you back to Premier Inn in the future.

The hotel is in a great location, easy walking distance to The Barbican and Hoe. Breakfasts were excellent as were all staff. The room was a good size, the only let down was the heat. We had two large fans on 24 hours a day, and managed to get the temperature down, but most of the time it averaged 28 degrees, way too hot.

Great new hotel, expensive but good quality breakfast. The only thing was the parking... We were blocked in by vehicle not registered at the hotel. We couldn't leave and meet our friends out of town. The staff tried very hard to find the owner, but it ruined our evening. There is an overflow car park which needs to be better advertised.

Excellent hotel with large comfy rooms. Very helpful staff who welcome you with a smile regardless of time of arrival. Staff have good local knowledge if you need directions and if they do not know will find out for you with. Accomodation is super clean and up to date decoration. Location is excellent being between the Barbican and town shops. Fab breakfast with something for everyone and value for money. Highly reccommended.

Another great Premier Inn - Nothing complicated about this accomadation you know what your getting and its great value clean accomadation at a good price. What makes this property stand out is its location. Because the Barbican and Quay area's how now been fully develeped the hotel is a 5 minute enjoyable walk accross the water into the heart of the Barbican
