I have walked and camped from Bigbury to Falmouth so far and it is great. It varies greatly so be prepared in advance.

love this part of the coast path - lots of fascinating features along the way to look out for, the lush stairway to Devon at Royal William Yard and really good to see lots of nautical and historical references in walls, railings. Really inventive.

The steps up from Royal William Yard were amazing and in memory of Eric Wallis MBE and lead to the most fantastic views you won't have seen for a long time. (Weather permitting). There is some storm damage in that area but look through it.

Great clear path leading between villages and Towns, stop off points at camp sites and with refreshments between a few pubs. All very welcoming and friendly.

My wife and I live in Plymouth and a regular feature of our walking calender includes numerous trips to the South West Coast Path from Whitsand to Cawsand via Rame Head and back. It is normally well trimmed and clear, today it was an absolute nightmare. The path is almost totally overgrown in some places, with waist high grasses and stinging nettles, the path is so overgrown in many places it is not possible to see you foot placement on the rough terrain surface. This resulted in my wife falling over on a number of occasions, twisting her ankle on one. So what was supposed to be an enjoyable day walk turned out to be a disaster. On the route back from Rame Head to Whitsand, my wife and I chose to walk on the road rather than face the ordeal of the footpath. Walking on the road is not for the faint hearted, but it is significantly safer than the South West Coast path at the moment. Please whoever is responsible re-instate this jewel of the South West to it's former glory and CUT THE GRASS.

Thank William H
