Room was dated by modern hotel standards but kept very clean and was attended to daily. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The only reason for the poor marks are the 150+ travelers that descending on the hotel for what appeared to be 3 day funeral, which resulted in non stop drinking, where kids were let loose and in the end the Police needing a huge presence to stop the fighting between families. The noise went onto the early hours in the hotel corridors. Unfortunately because of this we have had to place business guests in another hotel this week.
I do feel for the staff as its impossible for them to deal with this behavior.
I was told by staff that this happens several times a year.

Thank you for your review and your positive comments regarding our bedrooms, although I am sorry that your experience was not totally satisfactory.

I am unaware that the size of the group was in fact as high in numbers as suggested and there does appear to be some anomaly around frequency levels mentioned, as this is the first time a group of this size and nature has used our hotel.

In an effort to come to some sort of satisfactory conclusion, I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this with you further should you wish to contact me at the hotel.

With sincere regards,

Andy Byles

We were travelling by ferry to Spain and the Future Inn was ideally placed on the edge of Plymouth. Easy to access. Good car parking and it’s own restaurant with an easy very short drive to the ferrtythe next day. Friendly staff. Comfortable rooms and good breakfast

So nice to have a lovely room, cosy bed and breakfast, room all tidy after a day out. Our first holiday without kids, it was so relaxing and just what we needed. The view wasn't that wonderful, but that's no reason not to love the room

Room tip: Breakfast bout 7 30 so you will have lots of choice and freshly cooked and hot food. Also don't forget your room number before you sit down

We came here for a family holiday and the staff’s attitude ruined it. The duty manager Allison couldn’t have been less interested with resolving our room issues.

Extremely disappointing. The hotel itself is okay. The same carpets since smoking was allowed, so they’re grubby. The rooms are usually clean enough to stay in, you will find the odd hair though.

Overall an underwhelming hotel, with poor staff.

We were told by one of Allison’s team that we could change our night without penalty or cost (because our youngest woke up at 5am with a tummy bug so moved it 24hrs forward) - he was due to send an email to hotels.com to resolve it.

It turns out he told Allison and she said no, so emailed hotels.com saying we had to pay almost the same amount of the original booking again, or sleep in a bed next to our 2 young children (who go to sleep at 7pm) after we’d originally booked joined rooms.

Allison became increasingly frustrated on the phone, before huffing and slamming the phone down (I called back and was told she’d been disconnected)

It’s a shame that after being such a loyal customer here, and planning our first family holiday since our youngest was born in lockdown that neither Allison nor her general manager were willing to use their discretion to simply change a date.

Let’s hope this isn’t the ‘Future’ of hotels

Good morning and thank you for your review,

I am pleased to say that nearly all comments we receive regarding our bedrooms and their cleanliness are positive but nonetheless, we take all comments seriously and where possible, will use them to improve our product and services.

I have noted that you wished to change your date of stay yesterday and that the the price increased. It is usual practice for hotels and other travel related businesses around the world to work on rates that vary according seasonality and days of the week, which means rates can increase and/or decrease accordingly.

I have reviewed your interaction with our member of staff mentioned and am unable to find any lapse in the service you were offered.

With regards,

Andy Byles
General Manager
