Stayed at the Drake hotel due to its location as we were attending a wedding just round the corner from the church.
On arrival we were greeted by Nicky and was made most welcome. We were in the Kingsize room on the first floor and Kingsize it was. Bed was very comfortable and the decor and layout was excellent. Could not fault the room as it was spotless and very well equiped.
Breakfast was excellent and freshly prepared by Augustis, plenty to choose from and service was first class by Nicky.
As other reviews say the location is fantastic to get about Plymouth shopping and the hoe/barbican area.
Hotel has plenty of free car parking spaces which was a saving on its own. Hotel has a licences bar and a Tv lounge to relax.
One word sums up our stay "Excellent"
Very highly recommended and will be booking into the Drake Hotel on our return visit to Plymouth.

Room Tip: Made very welcome by Nicky & Augustis and hotel and location was perfect for exploring Plymouth centre.

An excellent place to stay. Very clean, friendly staff & a very good breakfast, also a licenced bar. Free parking at the front & rear of the hotel for approximately 18 cars. Ideally situated for exploring Plymouth & a stones throw from The Hoe & a 5 minute downhill walk to the town centre. I would certainly recommend it & would turn.

Highly recommend this friendly Guesthouse, located perfectly for The Hoe, Barbican and Waterfront. A lovely old (1830's) property, tastefully decorated emphasising many original architectural features (check out the ceiling and door 'architraves' in the breakfast room). We had spacious family room on the second floor which was spotlessly clean and well decorated, comfy beds too. Good breakfast variety and owners very accommodating to my daughter who was running the Half Marathon. If we are ever in Plymouth again would definitely try here first.
