Just had a week at the Trouville and really enjoyed it. The owners were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. We stayed the last week in August 2013 and the place was full.
Firstly the room, well decorated, clean and an abundance of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits left every day. Fresh towels every day without asking. Shower dated but plenty of hot water, shampoo and shower gel and soap. Room also had a flat screen t v and a hair dryer.
Breakfast was served in the front room. It consisted of cereals, yoghurts, fruit and fruit juice. A full breakfast was served according to your choice. Toast and a selection of jams were put on all tables along with tea or coffee.
There was parking at the rear for 5 cars but we managed to park easily down the road.
There was Internet access which we accessed every day, although at times we found it hard to access from our room we were always able to get a signal in the dining room.
Although the carpets throughout could do with updating I think you see past them when you get to know the people who run the place they truly do make you feel at home.It is a long time since we have stayed in a B&B we mostly stay in hotels that often lack that personal touch. This was a friendly place to stay were guests felt quite at home.
Would we stay here again, undoubtedly, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Torquay, it was so lovely to have a proper British holiday with weather that you normally only get abroad!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 6 it was at the back of the house and downstairs, very quiet and were glad it didn...

Good:
-Very friendly owners - helpful and hospitable

Neither:
-Parking is available but its limited - other guest may end up parking behind you, but the owners are willing to chase people up to get cars moved.

Bad:
-Wifi was very weak and none existant upstairs.
-The quality of the breakfasts could be better, cheap bread and sausages.

Very nice clean guest house, basic but ok. Just one niggle - the pillows on the beds - like sleeping on rocks, dreadfully hard. Other than that all ok. Full English breakfast was nice and enough to keep you going for a few hours. Gary and Gina were really lovely, very welcoming indeed. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room. All in all a very pleasant stay and would definitely go back there. The only other problem were the drunk couples who came in at 3am and woke us up with their drunken conversations. Trouville is not at all soundproof! Went to the Bombay Express , 98 Belgrave Road - nice curry, not cheap but cooked fresh to order and the service was great. The Yacht pub down at the harbour is cheaper than the Wetherspoons and in a better location.

Room Tip: We were in room 3 and it was nice and quiet.

Hubby and I stayed here for a long weekend at the end of April. From the friendly greeting to the wave goodbye it was a smashing stay. Breakfast was superb the rooms spotlessly clean and the bed beautifully comfortable. It's just a short walk from the middle of Torquay and the harbour and there's the added bonus of a very good pub just across the road. What more do you need?.....The weather? well that was great too!!!!

My elderly Mum and I stayed at The Trouville overnight and we wished we'd booked for longer. Our rooms were cosy, comfortable and clean and we had everything we needed. There was a generous supply of everything- towels, toiletries, tea & coffee- and Gina and Gary felt like friends straight away.
We went over the road to the pub opposite for dinner and had good and very reasonably priced food and drink, and in the morning we really enjoyed our breakfast at the hotel.
But the best thing of all was the BEDS- I don't normally sleep well away from home but my huge bed with its memory foam topper was heavenly and I had the best night's sleep in ages!
We'd definitely stay here again and I can thoroughly recommend it.

Room Tip: The rooms aren't huge but they're perfect in every other way.

I would like to endorse the favorable reviews of the Trouville. This is a very well run guesthouse, it is spotlessly clean with very good food and very helpfull owners. Its big pluss is its situation, just a short stroll to the promenard and all of torquays main attractions. We parked in the road at the back of the hotel and did not move it until we left for home. Opposite the hotel is a pub called The Old Bull and Bush,They have a good selection of real ales and good food at very keen prices.
We had a very happy weekend,I really recommend the Trouville

Room Tip: All the rooms are fairly small but very well equipped, higher floor is preferable.
