On arrival we received a very warm welcome from Paul and Jane. The room was spotlessly clean and there was plenty of tea, milk, coffee and bicuits, a fresh bottle of water was supplied every morning. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. Paul was very informative about local things to see and do. It really was a home from home. I would recommend Brooklands to anyone thinking of holidaying in Torquay.

We were welcomed like we were old friends and it never stopped the whole time. Paul and Jayne are a lovely couple and nothing was too much trouble and gave us loads of information which helped out loads. A spotlessly clean room with lovely little touches daily. The house was in a perfect setting to get to most of the good locations which was handy and a bus stop outside front door, a day rider ticket is a must. Room had plenty of storage and a good shower. The breakfast was AMAZING and choice is fantastic nothing was too much for Jayne & Paul. Thank you both so much for a wonderful stay xxxx

Paul met us at the station with a warm welcome! Which continued for the whole of our stay. Jane cooked a fabulous breakfast every morning with a great choice of freshly cooked food. There was plenty of tea coffee etc in the room along with biscuits and sweets. An iron, ironing board and hair dryer were available at all times! Also plenty of coat hangers in the wardrobe. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. So much nicer than staying in a big hotel where you're just a number!!!
Thank you both x

This is not like staying in a guest house it's more like staying with friends from the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble for Paul and Jane we were told to come and go as you please there were fresh towels every day, plenty of tea and coffee and biscuits in the room and more outside the room if needed, full English every morning and to make it that bit more special a little chocolate every day and a bottle of wine on our last, it was the perfect place to stay and we hope to go again if we can.

My girlfriend booked this place for a short three day break at late notice, based on tripadvisor reviews. It was a wise decision! From the minute you arrive Paul & Jayne will do absolutely everything they can to make you feel, welcome & comfortable. The room was spotless and very warm. Breakfast was absolutely delicous and very large! There was excellent choice and they went out of their way to cater for my girlfriend who cannot eat wheat. The room was cleaned while we were out that day and we came back to fresh towels, a small bottle of wine, glasses & chocolates all laid out on the bed later that night! My girlfriend had noticed a small lighthouse themed stand for the teapot that Jayne was using and asked where she could get something similar as a souvenir. We didn't find anything similar but it didn't matter as the following morning when we were checking out Jayne gave us one as a small gift, along with some bottles of water for our journey. Paul & Jayne then helped us out with our bags to the car and said good bye with kisses and handshakes all round! You simply will not get looked after better than this anywhere. Paul & Jayne really worked hard to make us comfortable while we were there and deserve the rating I've given them, I only wish I could rate them higher-amazing!

Ended up here almost by accident as we joined some friends for a weekend away to use some vouchers they had been given for B & B accommodation. The choices were all round the country but I was pleased they chose Torquay as I used to live there.

From the time we arrived, Paul & Jayne made us feel very welcome. Rooms were good enough and everything seemed very clean. After we arrived, Jayne signed us in to the RAF Association club next door for a swift beer and we went to the harbour side for a meal at an italian called Amica which was top notch. Returned and had a nightcap in the RAFA club where there was a birthday celebration going on with live music. Nice crowd but the best entertainment was the fairly merry bloke who danced so badly he made me look good!

Had a great sleep in a very comfy bed (room 2 and a good size) and not long after waking up had the smell of breakfast drifting up from downstairs. We'd been given the breakfast menu the night before and the choice was superb but still didn't prepare us for the fantastic grub that was piled on the plates for us. All of this great food was accompanied by some very funny and entertaining conversations with Jayne who clearly loves having the guests to cook and bake for. I could best describe it as breakfast with cabaret and I'm only sorry that we hadn't booked to stay longer.

If you fancy a trip to Torquay, do it. It's a fabulous place and the only thing to make it a great break would be to stay at Brooklands and experience the hospitality and enjoy the breakfast. Good hosts and we'll go back again soon.

Room Tip: Room 2 was pretty good and had everything you'd need.
