“Fantastic”
Reviewed 16 February 2013

We have just returned from a five day trip to the Abbey Lawn, this was our second visit, which was even better than our first. We were picked up locally and didn't have to handle our luggage at all until it turned up in our room, which was a huge relief to us. We had a large premier room, with a walk in shower room, which was perfect for my husband. Our room was clean and was maintained every day.
All the staff were polite, helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them and the smiles we recieved were so welcoming.
The food was wonderful, hot and served very quickly by the lovely Jon, who had a great sense of humour.
The entertainment each evening was excellent - we particullaly enjoyed Andy and Hillary both evenings were such fun, i haven't laughed or danced so much in ages.
One of the highlights was Allan our driver and the variety of trips - his constant sense of fun was infectious and his knowledge of the area was superb, he made the trips special and memorable.
Heidi and Barry were excellent hosts as were Kate and Randell. When the coach arrived Heidi came onto the coach and gave us all a very warm welcome. As we left, both Barry and Heidi came to say goodbye.
This was a wonderful value for money hotel and the staff were excellent - we can't wait to go back for our third visit in September.
Thank you all - well worth a visit

Room Tip: Go for a premier room

The Hotel is great lovely & clean. All the staff are very friendly & helpful, nothing was too much trouble for any of them. The food was excellent as well, cooked well & tasty too. we have just spent four days at the abbey lawn it was a nice hotel pity there was no lounge if you dont want the entertainment the bar is very small just to sit and talk there was nowhere and the cream tea was whipped cream and in devon a cream tea is clotted cream but they were the only criiticism about the hotel it was always warm and the food was plentiful and varied and entertainment was good

Just returned from November 2012 Turkey & Tinsel at Abbey Lawn Hotel, with Robinsons.BRILLIANT. Had a wonderful time. Room 101 was ideal and very warm
and comfortable. BARRY AND HEIDI were excellent hosts with RANDEL AND KATE.
Nothing was too much trouble for them and we had many a laugh with them.ALL the
staff in the hotel from management to cleaners were wonderful. Entertainment was
very good, we have never laughed as much. Met some lovely people who we will be
keeping in touch with. Will definately be back for more. LOVE TO HOLLY!

Just back from fri-mon turkey and tinsel with Get up and Go at The Abbey lawn. Lovely hotel but dissapointed with our room, everybody seemed to have a more modern room, overlooking tennis courts, pool and sea views, we overlooked the car park! I suppose we could have asked to change but we didn't. The room quite dated and very dimly lit but spotlessly clean and beds very comfy. Food was ok and our waiter was very efficient and friendly. Entertainment good, especially the last night with the "memory" man, I haven't laughed so much for ages!! Heidi and Barry work very hard. Overall this was an excellent cheap weekend break and would definately return and have already recommended.

Just returned from Tinsel & Turkey break with Robinson at the Abbey Lawn hotel. The hotel was clean and warm we had a very good room 103 just at top of the steps which meant we didnt need to use the lift which was just as well as this was horrible very heavy gate to pull over and very old fashion dark inside not really suitable for people with weak arms.Creaking floorboards woke us up almost every morning didnt need alarm.Entertainment was good on at least 3 nights we felt Lee whos Mum and Dad work at the hotel was excellent,so were his mum and dad felt they would make good mine hosts.Food lve had much better on other T&T felt turkey 2nights too much even for T&T break.Crackers left a lot to the imagination really cheap not impressed. Staff excellent Scott very good on bar although it closed at 11pm yet said 11.30 in imformation in bedroom, first hotel l've been in when bar closed before 12.Over all good hotel but felt management cut corners ie cheap crackers and food thats why l've rated it as above.

Room Tip: Seaview room nice and sunny ours was very spacious 103
