Single pensioner stayed 4 nights HB from 30 April.2012 Could not fault the food which included superb porridge and a choice of 3 main courses always with fresh vegetables. Service from a multinational staff could not be faulted. Superb location being only 5 minutes from Torre Abbey and the beachfront, and only 10 minutes from the Harbour. Water in indoor pool very warm and could swim any time - before breakfast if required. Proprietors could not do enough for you and provided excellent packed lunches.. Room was fine, nice firm mattress, quiet and had lovely view over gardens. Lovely listed building in good state of repair and ample car parking.
Would recommend to friends and family and would definitely use again. Had to change my dates twice due to health problems and this was done without charge.

Room Tip: Believe what the pensioners say.

We stayed at the Cavendish over Easter 2012 from Fri-Mon. Location was perfect and the food was excellent. We had a really good choice on the menu every day and every meal was cooked and served brilliantly. We will return to this hotel, thank you!

Room Tip: we requested a room at the back of the hotel as these are quieter.

My husband and I have just returned from a Mon-Fri break at the Cavendish. Hotel just a 10 minute walk from the promenade and a good tourist information kiosk next door. Food beautiful, piping hot and good choice on menu daily. The hotel are in the process of refurbishment so don't be put off by some reviews as you may well get a 'better quality' room by the time you get there :-) Indoor pool was lovely and open from 8am -8pm. Good entertaiment every night except wednesday, but go down to the ballroom on Wed nights and pay £2.50 to the Blazing Saddles country club for a great nights entertainment where you will be made most welcome. Bingo 8:30pm nightly before the entertainment. Staff were 100% brilliant in reception, maid service and in the dining room. Booked a packed lunch evening before departure for £3:50 and was lovely and a 3rd of the price in the motorway service stations. All in all, a lovely stay at this hotel.

My wife & I stayed here from 23rd to 27th April, on a coach holiday. Our room was clean and tidy, the meals were good but what makes this such a good place to stay are the staff, from reception, dining staff and the cleaning ladies thanks to you all for making our stay so good, hope to see you all soon.

The rooms were of mixed quality, but very nice and clean. We had booked 2 single rooms. My room had a very nice comfortable bed, my wifes had a very hard and not very comfortable one. I had an ordinary bathroom with a bit of wear and tear, my wife had a nice newly restored batroom. My TV didn´t work very well despite two visits from hotel staff, my wifes was OK. It took two more visits from staff to turn off the radiators in both rooms, as the controls were damaged.
The reception area was OK with comfortable seating arrangements, while the bar was about as welcoming as a bus shelter. The food was of average English type with no frills, but edible. The best feature of this hotel, was definitely the staff - everybody were very nice and welcoming and I don´t think we saw anything but smiles, whenever we approached a member of staff anywhere in the hotel.

standard twin rooms are a little cramped if you have mobility problems and only have one chair to sit on. but room was very clean and service good. the menu for both breakfast and evening meals was very good with choices to suit all tastes and food was always served hot. all the staff were friendly and helpful we would stay there again.

Room Tip: check size of room if you have mobility problems and need space.

At the time I went the hotel prices were extremely good value. If you're travelling on a budget it would be a good idea to get on Cavendishes' web site to see what specials they have. They have quite a few bargains during the year. I can recommend including the evening meal during your stay - the meals are first class and are quite aot cheaper if booked with the room. The waiting staff were excellent and efficient.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the right hand side (the ocean side) of the hotel (looking from Belgrave Road...
