Alison and David looked after us very well during our stay in Torquay. We got very wet walking in the moors and Alison took our wet clothes and hung them inside where they could dry. They were also very happy to "customise" our breakfast for us in the morning.

The accommodation is relatively basic but it is very clean and comfortable. There was ample parking which was good as on street parking was not allowed on the street. There are a few pubs in walking distance. Restaurants can also be reached on foot but tend to be further away so it is better to take a car.

Stover Lodge Bed and Breakfast provides modern, clean, well maintained and beautifully decorated rooms with unexpected extras like flatscreen Freeview telly and radio alarm clocks in the rooms, tea making facilities also provide a good selection of beverages including decaf varieties and hot chocolate. The ensuite facilities were excellent with very pleasant soap and shower gel provided in hassle free dispensers. The rooms also had a fresh and clean fragrance without an overpowering airfreshner scent.
Many good ideas and little caring features that have been added to Stover Lodge by the friendly resident hosts make it a very easy and pleasant place to stay.
The breakfasts were FANTASTIC and made to order as required, from those who enjoy the full works to those who have special dietry requirements to take into account.
The whole establishment was well run, very clean and well maintained and David and Alison (resident hosts) were always happy to help with anything I needed. Since they have lived in the area for many years they are also very knowledgable about local attractions and place of interest and are able to provide lots of helpful information to enhance your stay.
Torr train station is just across the road and so very convenient for travelling a little further afield but the centre of Torquay is within very easy walking distance and the route is a lovely walk.
I would highly recommend a stay at Stover Lodge, it was such a comfortable and relaxing stay with plenty of local places of interest to venture to.

We have stayed at stover lodge about 4 times now and we have found the rooms very clean and the family rooms have good space, the en suite bathrooms are spotless as if they were new.The owners david and alison were very friendly and made us feel welcom and were happy to stop for a chat when we bumped into them on the way out and also had good knowledge of places to visit during our stay. At breakfast we had a choice of cerial,grapefruit,eggs,kippers, or a full english with toast cooked by alison that lasted us all day. Stover lodge is part of our holidays and we will be staying there every time we visit Torquay , We couldnt ask for a more friendly place to stay.
