As the weather was so good we decided last Thursday to visit Torquay for the weekend. We only wanted one night and searched Trip Advisor for a recommendation. So pleased to have been able to book Saturday night at The Wellsway.
The excellent reviews on this site were not an exaggeration. Welcome from the owners was friendly and put us at ease straight away. The property 'smelled' clean the minute you walked in. Our room was No. 2, - very spacious, beautifully furnished and decorated with wardrobe and sufficient hangers for our needs. A nice selection of tea, coffee and biscuits, a powerful hairdryer and a flat screen TV completed the facilities on offer. A good sized bathroom and a shower with double glass doors. Plenty of room to move around in. I thought I had made a mistake not taking my own shampoo and conditioner when I first used theirs as my hair did not feel very nice, but once it was dried it felt absolutely fine.
We always tend to judge breakfast by the quality of the sausage and this one was a winner.
We have been down to Torquay several times a year for the past 5-6 years ( I don't always take the time to write up a review I'm afraid) but this is the best small hotel we have found so far and we have no hesitation in recommending it to you. We are certainly looking forward to our next visit.
