We stayed for just one night while visiting our daughter who lives in Torquay having stayed in a Premier Inn previously. There is simply no comparison. Ascot House is just fantastic. The location, the room, the welcome, the food and the price are all wonderful. Needless to say, we will be back next time we are visiting Torquay. I particularly liked the car park challenge!

A shame I have to give a good review. Now more people will know about a hidden jewel in Torquay. The owners obviously care about what they do and go out of their way to make your stay just that little bit more special. The breakfast is excellent with nothing too much trouble. The rooms are comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. If only other hotels bothered as much, they could learn a lot from the Ascot House !

Room Tip: Go for a suite, just that bit more space.

Literally one of the best UK hotels I've ever stayed in, and great value for money. There is a real cosmopolitan feel to the place thanks to the international (and multi-lingual!) couple who run it. It is impeccably decorated with art and antiques (and Tintin posters!), but still has a relaxed feeling. All around a very pleasant experience.

We booked last minute and what a lovely surprise! The best of English meets european. From the individually syled rooms (yes I peeked in a few of the open rooms) to the quality coffee and fruit platter at breakfast, everything was stylish and thoughtfully put together. I have already recommended Ascot House to all my friends, The owners are great hosts and obviously really care about what they do. Book you won't regret it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay in Torquay. We stayed in room 8 which was spacious, comfortable and clean. The owners were friendly and keen to offer advice. The breakfast was delicious and we particularly enjoyed the 'fruit starter' before getting down to the main business of a full English challenge ! Parking was never a problem and the hotel's location is ideal for shopping and tourism in general. South Devon has so much to offer and it cannot fail to appeal to all age groups. We've visited the area on a number of occasions and, although this was our first stay at the Ascot House, we will certainly consider it again.
