My girlfriend and I stayed for one night at this hotel on the 20/04/2014. We had a welcome email after booking and when we arrived we were greeted by Terri and Bernard who were great with and couldn't help us enough. We were shown up to the junior suite where we would be staying and was given a map of Torquay and a description of the area by Terri. A polite gesture of hers was to ask us which time we would like breakfast between 7 (i think) and 10. They catered for my girlfriends vegetarian needs also. The room was spotless and had a living room with a settee and furniture such as a coffee table and a wardrobe, a plasma tv on the wall and a view of the main road and a partial sea view. The bedroom is at the back of the open plan room and has another plasma tv on the wall with two bedside tables. The bed was extremely comfortable and again extremely clean! The bathroom was just off in a separate room which had a big shower hand basin and toilet. There isn't much room between the toilet and the shower so if you are a big person it may best to opt for a different suite.

The hotel is about a ten minute walk from the town centre, may be best to get a taxi if it is raining. Terri points out which is the easiest route towards the town. There is on site parking which I used which was extremely handy! The car park is a right squeeze but I am sure is fine for any driver when you manoeuvre appropriately.

My girlfriend and I have already said that we will be returning to this hotel some time this summer. You get a great sense that this is Bernard and Terri's pride and joy and it was a privilege to share that with them.

Thank you for a great stay!

Would recommend the luxury suite and these hosts for a base in Torquay. Nothing was too much bother, very good with our young child. Fantastic accommodation, very clean, spacious and comfortable. Lovely breakfast.
View wasn't great but that wasn't expected so no complaints there either.
Would definitely return.

Thank you! - we're so glad you enjoyed your stay and greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Yes, while the Luxury Suite offers great space, including the roll-top tub and separate shower as well as balcony access from both the lounge and bedroom, if it's a view one wants, our Sea View Suite is the option to go for! We enjoyed having you all and very much hope to see you again on any future visit to the area.

My Husband, Daughter and I have just returned from a two night break in Torquay where we stayed at the Ascot House Hotel. I booked the hotel on the strength of the reviews on Trip Advisor and was very pleased to say that the reviews were spot on. As per the other reviews, Terri gave us a very warm welcome upon arrival, along with directions into town and other local places of interest. We stayed in the deluxe suite which was decorated to a high standard and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, with a wide choice of items available to choose from including a lovely fresh fruit platter, cereals, toast, croissants, brioche and/or cooked.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Torquay and will definitely visit again when next in the area.

Room Tip: I'd definitely recommend a suite when staying away with family.

My husband and I stayed at Ascot House for one night while visiting relatives, staying in the Deluxe Suite. The experience was from beginning to end a pleasure. From the friendly text message acknowledging our email stating when we would arrive, to the delicious breakfast the next morning, we felt extremely well looked after by Terri.

The suite itself is spotlessly clean and very spacious - tastefully and thoughtfully decorated with some really unique touches. A particular highlight was the large free-standing bath in the bathroom and the giant bed which was very comfortable. I rather wished we could have stayed longer to have appreciated the place a bit more!

I really doubt there are many places in Torquay like this and for the quality of room, service and breakfast, it felt like good value for money. We will seriously consider returning when we are next down in Torquay. Highly recommended.

Thank You! The Deluxe Suite is one that was created with the most recent renovations (this past November) and is proving very popular indeed. We're so pleased you enjoyed the space as well as the roll-top tub! We do hope to see you again when you're next down - and don't forget we offer discounts to returning guests!

What can I say that others haven't? Chose to stay at Ascot House due to the excellent reviews and was not disappointed in any way. Terri was extremely warm and welcoming on our arrival, we stayed in a deluxe suite with our 4 year old son, it was tastefully decorated, immaculately clean and had plenty of space. We had a blissful night's sleep on the most comfortable bed we've slept away from home in, there was no traffic noise despite our room being at the front of the hotel, the curtains kept the early morning light at bay - so our son was not awake too early.
Breakfast was a delight, starting with the gorgeous fruit platter which didn't last long with myself and my son rapidly clearing the plate. Of course my husband was saving himself for the tempting cooked breakfast placed before him! There was ample selection to please all tastes including cereals, toast, croissants, brioche etc.
The hotel is within easy walk of Torquay' s centre, harbour/Marian and short drive to many varied day trip adventures.
We had a relaxing weekend stay at Ascot House Hotel, easily the best B&B experience so far. Will definitely be recommending to others and will look forward to further stays.

Room Tip: All rooms are of a high standard

We recently stayed for two nights at the Ascot House Hotel and what an experience, The Luxury Suite was amazing, large comfy bed, beautifully decorated and with an amazing bath. After a gorgeous breakfast we didnt want to move but made ourselves go and explore Dartmouth Castle (definately worth a visit). Terri and Bernard were wonderful thoughtful hosts bringing so many personal touches to a boutique hotel. If you stay here you will never want to stay anywhere else. Thank you so much for making our stay a memorable experience and will definately be back

Room Tip: We stayed in the Luxury Suite and it lived up to its name

A beautifully presented B&B 'villa'. We stayed in the Luxury suite - 3 huge rooms to ourselves! An amazing bathroom; spacious lounge and beautiful bedroom with large, comfortable, bed. Nothing was too much trouble for the owner Terri who was very welcoming on arrival and friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Wonderful breakfast with a wide choice. The platter of freshly cut fruit was especially appreciated! Definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: The luxury suite is very spacious and tastefully decorated. The balcony adds a 'touch of class...
