I stayed at the Premier Inn from Friday to Monday at a cost of £29.00 per night for a double room which in my opinion was excellent value for money. The reason for my visit was to watch Rotherham United play Torquay United on the Saturday and myself and my wife along with my son and his partner and grandson decided to make a weekend holiday taking in the game as well.
The staff were very friendly and thier knowledge of the area and attractions were very good as on the Sunday we took a visit to Paighton Zoo on the recomendation of one of the staff and a good day was had by all.
The room was very clean and comfortable and had everything you needed within it, the beefeater restaurant on site was excellent and offered good value for money meals, we did eat at the hotel and also out of the hotel and the food we had at the hotel was excellent.
The only fault I had with our stay was the car parking facilities as with the beefeater restaurant being onsite the car park was full the majority of our stay, I would recommened if at all possible that the hotel seperate the car parks and have a seperate area for hotel resident parking only.
All in all an excellent stay was had and I would recommened anyone visiting Torquay to look at this hotel which is situated on the seafront and only a very short stroll to the harbour and all amenities. If you book early you can get excellent discounts too.

Room Tip: Rooms in the rear off the building will be quieter.

We had a very clean and comfortable room on the second floor. It overlooked the park and part of the promenade. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The only fault were delays of up to 30 minutes waiting to order dinner in the restaurant, although all the staff seemd to be working very hard. The Meal Deal menu was a shorter version of the full Beafeater menu, but we still had a wide choice of each course and drink.Would recommend this hotel to others and would stay again.

Recently stayed at this hotel for two days at the special rate of £79 per room for the two days It is a well run hotel and was very clean especially the bathroom even though we were in the older part of the building, the rooms were great and clean with usual facilities<coffee, tea and ample clean towels. There is a very efficient car parking system that allows you to park in the municipal car park free with pass issued at the reception,it ajoins the hotel. There is a very good sea facing lounge bar with reasonable prices there is also a Beafeater restaurant in the buildingwith the usual meal facilities and a VERY good english breakfast. In all a very good and reasonable place to stay made even more so as I grew up in Torquay When it was in its hayday 50s 60s.

Room Tip: front with sea views good but rear and side great as they are very quiet

We found the room sparce at first but got used to the large room and little clutter. A small table between the two armchairs would have been useful. The bathroom was spotless and the bed comfortable and the pillows fine; the bedlinen was spotless and the daily towel changes great.

The lift was a great asset as we are older and always functioned well. For such a large building it was surprisingly quiet, any noise from the road outside, but that was our fault for sleeping with windows wide open!

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking the park with sea views were great

Spent many days (literally) on the internet looking for a suitable place to take our very elderly parents for a break. Had to be flat (no steep hills or stairs), close to amenities with decent on-site food (not too exotic/spicy). The Premier Inn proved absolutely perfect. We paid a small supplement for sea view & could walk either way along the promenade outside without it being too strenuous. The hotel & restaurant staff were all very friendly. When we complained the bedroom was too cold for the elderly couple an extra heater was immediately provided. Also, when we reported a broken lamp in our room, that was also attended to. Beefeater restaurant which is attached to the hotel (you don't even have to leave the building) provided decent, well cooked food at very good prices.
As a retired businessman I have stayed at 4 & 5 star hotels in the UK & abroad many, many times so, frankly, was not expecting too much from a budget hotel chain but I was very agreeably surprised The rooms are basic but clean & comfortable & the service was friendly & efficient. We booked the reduced rate, non refundable deal from their website so all in all I felt this was excellent value for money. More importantly, the elderly couple loved it. This was, by the way, their first visit to Torquay since 1945 when they celebrated the end of World War 2 !

Room Tip: Rooms at the front have excellent sea view but there is a bit of traffic noise in the early morning...

This is a great hotel with views over Torbay. We had to swap our rooms on arrival as my mother could not manage without a wet room for disabled, even though I tried to book this in advance (the website booking page does not allow you to do this, so you have to write or phone). The rooms we got were very good and had connecting door, but were on the far side of the hotel, although there is an entrance at this end it is not accesible with a wheelchair. This is a very busy hotel and the beefeater restaurant is very popular. Residents get a parking permit and non-resisdents have to buy a ticket. The car park quickly becomes full in the evening and you can find yourself having to park outside the hotel and having to pay. The hotel needs to make an arrangement with the local council so residents can use their car park (adjacent to the hotel) with a hotel permit.

Room Tip: Get a room away from any corridor doors if possible.

I needed to book a hotel near the Riviera Centre. There were loads of independant hotels but they all looked a bit run down. I chose Premier Inn because although I know it wouldn't be earth shattering I felt that at least I knew what to expect.

It was mildly uncomfortable - the bed was poor, the pillows were rock solid, there was no bath, the shower overflowed, there was no phone in the room, the food in the beefeater was awful - overcooked and bad value and the parking was dire with cars up all the kerbs and along the double yellow lines.

All in all it was mediocre but not unbearable. It certaily wasn't cheap either at £89 per night.

Room Tip: Make sure you are n the main building otherwise you have to walk across the car park for dinner
