We stayed here for a week it was our summer holiday, as other reviewers, the staff were great and very friendly, made us feel very relaxed and comfortable, can not fault maid service, they were also very friendly and unobtrusive. We had not eaten at a Beefeater for quite some time, so we were pleasantly surprised on how the food has improved, it was really good, the service was good, and the waiting staff were very friendly and helpful, even though you could tell that they were working under a lot of pressure when the restaurant was busy. I would agree that the management could do with upping the staffing level in the restaurant.
Our room was huge, and very comfortable, and spotlessly clean, I have two criticisms though, one is as we stayed for a week, we could have done with more clothes storage space, maybe a chest of drawers, although saying that we did manage so no big deal. Also I did expect there to be free wifi internet access, lots of other hotels provide this now. And I think the price charged for it is very high! we paid for a weeks access which works out a lot cheaper (if you are staying that long!), but the daily hourly charges were ridiculous!!

That apart the whole stay was brilliant we will definately be going back!!
Incidentely, we also stayed at a travel lodge for one night on our way home, this was totally the opposite, absoloutely awful, will not be staying at a travel lodge again!!!

Booked a 2 night stay at the last minute based on the previous reviews. We were not dissapointed. The hotel was everything we had hoped for, great clean family room, very helpful staff and a superb location for a family with 2 young children (5 & 8) who wanted to be on the beach. We ate in the bar and were very pleased with service and the standard of food. Breakfast in the restaurant was also very good and we felt that the offer for children under 16 to eat free when an adult pays full price was good value.
We will certainly be making another visit.

I cant really fault this hotel at all. The hotel is situated in probably as good a location as possible in Torquay, on the seafront close to the centre but not in it. Turn left out of the hotel and you're in Torquay within 5 or 10 minutes walk along a very nice promenade. The hotel has ample free parking and we never had a problem finding a space.
Check in was fast with no problems and the room was large and spotlessly clean. Downstairs there is a modern bar and Beefeater restaurant with a garden and patio area to the front that faces the sea. You can also order food in the bar if you don't want to sit in the main restaurant.
Overall, if you want a good clean hotel at a reasonable price in a good location, you wont go far wrong with the Premier Inn Torquay. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. I'd certainly go back again.

We stayed here for a week in August, even though the weather wasn't that good we had a great time. We loved everything about this hotel. We had a brilliant seaview room, plenty big for four of us. The location was excellent with plenty to do day and night. The hotel staff were really friendly and helpful especially the restaurant staff. The meals in the beefeater were excellent, great value too. You do need to book as it gets really busy. We will be visiting this hotel again next year for sure!!

I enjoyed every minute of the place! Very clean, very modern, with a lovely clean room and great bathroom facilities. The staff couldn't do enough for you. We were with a group of males, and this was perfect for us but it was alaso perfect for families. You couldn't get a better location and there was a great modern bar with a beefeater restuarant which opened out onto a spacious terrace and garden. If the sun is out its fantastic!

We stayed at this Travel Inn for two nights at the begining of August this year. We had a family room, my children being 10 and 14 yrs. We had a top floor room, I phoned them up a couple weeks beforehand, asking if we could have a room other than a ground floor one, as everytime we stop at a Travel Inn, we always get a ground floor room.

We had a lovely large bed, and the kids had a bed settee, and this time there was also a pullout bed, usually one of the kids has a bed on the floor. The room was airy and clean, with lots of towels.

The bathroom had a lovely large window, which I have never known in a Premier Inn before, and the bath and shower were fantastic, as the shower is a power shower. The only thing I would say wrong, was that the electric towel rail wasn't working.

Our room was at the side, and it overlooked Abbey gardens, which at the time we were there, a fairground was on. The room was airconditioned, which was great, 'cos it was hot and sunny, and also 'cos of the fairground noise.

There was a great flats creen T.V, plenty of room to hang clothes, and a large workstation with a dinky table light. The tea and coffee making facilities were okay, we didn't have any teaspoons or biscuits.

We had breakfast on both days, my kids just love these. There was plenty of everything. Juice, tea, coffee, bread, cereal and even organic yogurts. The cooked breakfast was delicious, with a choice of eggs, poached, scrambled and fried. You can have as much toast as you can eat.

We ate in the Beefeater restaurant at night, and the food was lovely. There was no waiting around for ages before the food arrived, as has happened in previous Premier Inns.

You do have to go to reception for a parking pass, as I think it is a pay and display car park. So if you get there early, like we did, just go to reception and they will give you a pass.

There is also an area outside for eating and for enjoying an evening drink.

All in all, we had a fantastic stay here, and would defintely go back.

We stayed at this hotel for a week and would definitely go back there! The location was excellent with the hotel being right on the seafront and within walking distance of the town centre. It is also only a short drive to the next busier seaside town of Paignton.

The rooms in the hotel are just as you would expect from Premier Inn, although we were on the bottom floor towards the back of the hotel and the room felt slightly damp. The people in the hotel are very friendly and helpful, and we were able to leave our car there for free on the day we arrived (we arrived at about 8am and check in is at 2pm).

The hotel is joined on to a bar and restuarant. We did not eat in the restaurant as the bar prices are a lot cheaper for the same food! The food in the bar is extremely good value for money, with you being able to get a steak for £5.95 if you order before 6.30pm. The service was good and we didn't have to wait long for our food, even when it was really busy. Joining onto the bar area is an outdoor terrace and beer garden which overlooks the beach which is lovely to sit out in the evening.

The town centre is about a 10 minute walk away and there are lots of shops and restaurants. We ate at the Wetherspoons in the town centre one afternoon and we were not impressed at all. Although it is cheap food, the food at the hotel actually works out cheaper. The food at Wetherspoons was not nice!

We would definitely recommend a trip to Paignton Zoo. It was a really good day out and is a huge zoo (one of the best we've been to). The animals are well kept in big enclosures. Would be a really good day out for people of all ages, although it would be a stuggle for those who struggle with walking long distances as it is extremely hilly.

Overall, our stay at the Premier Inn in Torquay was excellent and we would definitely go back!
