Only a flying one night visit but I can say that the Seabury is a nice example of a traditional Torbay Hotel. The building is a character arrangement that has developed with time avoiding that antisceptic Premier Inn feel. On this occasion I was very much ‘Out of season’ so did not get to sample a lot of the facilities offered at other times. Location is very good for the Babbacombe’s precinct and a short toddle from the Downs. The Staff ( and family ) are friendly and keen to chat and are backed up by two delightful dogs which remain invisible until requested.

This was the first time my wife and I had been away at Christmas and we couldn't have chosen a better place for our first non-family Christmas. We didn't actually choose the hotel ourselves as it waspart of a coach trip (Woods coaches in Leicester - excellent). The Seabury Hotel is listed a 2* establishment but except for the size of the rooms and the en-suite - they are both quite small - the rest of our experience was 5*. It's a family run hotel (4 generations of the family do most of the work) and what a lovely family. We were made to feel so much at home and any small problems were sorted quickly and quietly.
The food was excellent, all home cooked (I have Coeliac disease and need a gluten free diet but this was no problem. They had Gluten free bread and rolls for me and a lovely gluten free pudding to replace the Christmas pudding). The entertainment in the evenings was enjoyable. we were encouraged to dress up for the 40s theme night on Christmas day.
All in all, highly recommended.

Just had a couple of brillant couple of days at this lovely warm caring family run hotel, nothing was to much trouble and enjoyed there great evening chats in the bar, food was all home cooked and brilliant service never seen such a charming girl run around so quickly to make sure our food arrived hot. Our room was so warm and inviting...Would recommend this hotel to my friends. Teresa and Colin.

only complaint was the lack of vegetables with the evening meal, and only small portions, don't think hotel is used to dealing with coach parties. Found staff to be very friendly, rooms very clean, plenty of hot water and very comfy beds
